MDS Turbo weights!!!!!!

I tend to agree with backcountryislife. Conditions change all the time and no single setup is going to provide optimal performance on each and every day. There have been lots of days where my rpm is 100 or 200 off and with a quick adjustment in the secondary, I'm back to my target rpm. The stock secondary and a set of primary weights just can't provide that adjustment. For those that aren't that fussy, or maybe don't want to bother with adjustments, it probably works fine for them.
 
42 mph with a turbo???????? I hope you are over 350 lbs using a 174 track and are at 14,000 feet alt if you are only getting 42 mph?

That 42mph still makes a slp piped m1000 look weak, don't ask why, it just does, with the mds weights it stomps the piss out of one. I get some of the lowest track speed of anyone I know yet I go just as far as farther, the number does not mean anything unless compared when testing. The real picture here is that I gained 9-10mph track speed, tell me how much boost would it take if I where to just turn it up from 6lbs to get that much more speed.

Everyone seems to be missing the point, the weights are designed to make the compression helix work, its a fix.

I disagree, I don't think everyone is missing point, there are just other ways to go about it. You don't need to keep beating the drum. Everyone rides differently and there is no way to know what will work for some people. Oh ya, they come with a money back guarantee. Got that point too. Thanks.
 
Maybe not everyone is missing the point I stated, I said it to be taken in perspective.

You refer to having adjustments with the secondary. What I am saying is these weights potentially fix the need to adjust.
hypothetically, if you run a torsional you can adjust it and many do for different riding conditions,
I am saying these weights hypothetically (still testing) could eliminate the need to make adjustments thus fixing the current problems of rpm fluctuation and adding performance. I am not saying the 2 wont work together, just saying this is the goal. i e make it work in all conditions.

It sounds to me like you guys are so sold on the torsional setup that even if the MDS setup worked better, you still wouldn't run it just because you want the option of the torsional or both together. Or am I wrong? Not trying to start anything, just curious.

We've got Steve's weights in 3 sleds and everyone is pretty happy with them. I've seen both setups. My problem is I have no adjustment, and you can't tell me that one set of weights and one non-adjustable secondary is going to work for all conditions. There will be days where you will be spot on, and there will be days when you are over revving, and there will be days when you're rpm is too low. You can't tell me that Steve's weights always keep you at optimum rpm regardless of conditions. If you are seeing the same rpm on a hard packed trail as you are in deep snow conditions, in a climb, or in a climb in deep snow, then I think there is more to be had with your clutching. At the end of the day, as long as your happy, then ride it!
