Mds clutching

So I tried out Steve's new setup new primary spring and MDS weights with SLP pipe can. Everything else stock. We were caught in white out conditions and we had a small window that visibility improved to do some climbing in 14 inches of snow with a very good base under it. I feel like the 10-64s are a bit snappier off the bottom, but MDS weights seem to pull more track speed climbing. Consistently saw 43-45 mph but hill was not quite long enough to get full shift. Encouraging for sure but not conclusive. RPMs were never over 8400 so I think we are close here. More to come if I can get out Saturday.

Quick edit - Had my go pro looking at the gauges. Speed was 41/42 with a top speed one time of 45.

What were the track speeds with the 10-64's? Elevation?

Have always watched RPMs and temp so don't have a an answer on stock 64s, but I will tomorrow. Heading back out to Afton. Sled is back to stock now and I will make some runs to get stock speed/r's and then put the kit back in see what happens.

Today was a great testing day in Afton. At elevation 9K and up sleds pulls 8200-8250 and 36-37 mph in deep snow climbing. With MDS kit the bottom end and mid range felt noticeably better than stock and pulled 8350-8400 and I was seeing 41-42 mph. For my sled it is still not 100% consistent and when I go over 8350 the mph falls off. The mid feels really strong, but I may add another washer to the mid to see if I can load harder to carry more speed as it shifts out. Snow was so good today I ran out gas by lunch time.

What was your setup on the MDS weights?

Steve sent me some new hardware. 120/340 spring and black button with 1 washer in the mid and black button no washer in the tip. New hardware is shorter so you can keep tip weight lower by not running washers. Previous hardware needs washers in the tip.

Any updates here?

Heard great things about these weights in the Pro, are things dialed with the axys yet?

I tried everything I could think of and Steve gave me lots help and options. Best customer service experience I have had. That said, my sled and my buddies sled both 163 2.6 sleds have the SLP Pipe/can and his stock weights and spring setup was always right with me no matter what we tried. I may have had a slight hole shot advantage, but it wasn't enough to blow the doors off his sled.

We swapped parts across sleds and no change. Steve might have some additional info he can provide. Just my experience.

On the positive side, my sled could hang with the doo 174 in our group all day and sometimes I could even highmark em.
