I run a 34/44 bikeman torsional conversion setup with heavy hitters primary weights. The rpm is stable and good in all conditions, but in deep powder and full trottle, it feels like i`m not getting enough trackspeed. It weels better when decresing spring tension. Any suggestions?

The sled is a push turbo M8 2008, 10lbs of boost, 210hp in dyno. Top rpm, 7800-7900rpm.

The MDS weights are designed to have the top end of a heavy weight like yours but still have the backshift of a light tip,
I was wanting to try a something along the lines of a 34/40 for where I ride (10000ft), I think it would be a good start for good bottom end and top to get a idea of what it liked, but never really needed to.

Just ordered this weights. Will try to use the stock secondary setup with shift assist. (sea level 44/40), but maybe a straight 40 is more appropriate? Or 38.

My buddies BD PG M-8 is a hell of alot more user friendly in the trees and about 4-6 mph on the big stuff . Steves' been there for any questions even ones that have nothing to do with weights.

I just talked to Steve and he said that they are different.
Since I haven't used them he said to send them back for an even exchange.
Nice guy! Cant wait to try them!
Hopefully my Knee that I twisted at hockey the other night might mend itself miraculously by then.:(

Low Elevation MDS Turbo set up

2011 M8 162 BD PG. I ride at 1300 ft. Run straight AV and 8 lbs. Stock 36 helix/orange cat spring with shift assist. Steve loaded the weights to 79.5 garms with it all in the tip. Cat red in the primary.Pulls 8200/8300 consistantly. The engagement is somewhat higher than with a cat profile weight. The red brings it down to 3800. If you plan on doing some drag racing try a purple cat. The top end rpm will be almost the same but the engagment will be around 4600. Comes in hard so be careful when loading on to a deck. Thanks again Steve!

First test on the field today with the MDS setup. When giving full trottle the rpm went up to 8050 rpm stable, did 5-7 tests, same thing. Seams to work really well, way better that my previous setup (heavy hitters, 34/44 helix).

After this test the clutches was not even warm..!!

Adjusted the weights a little bit to get the rpm down to 7900. I will do some hard testing tomorrow, i`m really excited!!

36/44 will cause clutch heat and reduced track speed, if you want a quicker shift remove a little tip weight and add if needed to the middle, it will loose a tiny bit of top end track speed but not as much as the 36/44. If your above 8lbs you may want a 36/40 or a straight 38, 39 or 40.

Mine really liked the 8050-8250 range.

What are you guys seeing for engagement rpm. Im running the recommended black Polaris spring and mine is coming in high. 42-4500. Im thinking of trying the Cat Gold spring 75-275 lbs.

How much weigh are you running, mid/tip

I had mine a little lower than that, you could make it come in real smooth if you wanted or snap the throttle and it would give just a tiny bit of pop to the track for those quick starts. Make sure the weight pins arent over tightened keeping them from swinging free.

I tried the gold today 3800 rpm, no weight in mid and long,2 washers, and nut in tip, down from 4200 rpm with blk spring and still over revving by a few hundred , I still would like a little lower engagement

If its over reving add weight to the mid and see if that helps, do the weights swing free. Have you tried a new belt.

I was running 85.8 grams total with 8.5 grams in the tip and 6.8 grams in the middle.

Im going to drop 2.2 grams off the tip and try the gold.

What is your engagement, and what change did you see with weights in the middle, I got roughly 7.5 g in the tip and 0 in the middle, gold spring but I'm still overreving, if I add weight to middle what will change
