MCX180 Clutch Set up

Just made switch from Cat and setting up a 09 Nytro has .5km on now, read a lot of the clutching threads great info but wanted a couple opinions on this set up before I spend a grand sorting this out.
Sled will have 180hp, 2.5x162 camo extreme, 20 40 gearing, rider 230 with gear, ride at 2000' and 2-3 trips a year to 6-7000'.
Looking at Dalton adj. weights 73.6-81g are these good weights to work with or is there somthing better.
Helix angle ? or just order shockwave.
Springs, may need a bit more side force secondary?
Will pay large rewards for perfect setup when I hit the snow :beer;:beer;

Just try and keep your revs around 8800 for now because till the motor breaks in these sleds are near impossible to clutch, it'll change daily for about the first 500-700kms then settle down as the motor loosens up.

Stock rollers, was just throwing it out there for weights looking for idea's for what to run. Used 4 70grams in the cat with 40 degree helix at 2000'. Yamaha all new.

weights

8BU00 weighted down
blue pink blue
14.5 rollers
epi purple
shockwave.
I will be trying this but wont be able to run it till snow arrives. This is the same setup for stage 2 in mountains, but over revs at lower elevations. Should be close as it still overrevs a bit at 9-10lbs. Try less weight to start and load up as necessary, shockwave will fine tune.

Trying to wrap my head around these yamaha weights what would the 8bu00 base be, and looking at a yamaha chart when you say loaded up they talk about 17.2 outer 17.2 center 13.3 inner after 6 years on Cats yamaha sure dosen't seem to make there info as easy to find.

weights

the weights are fairly light but have a very aggresive curve to them which allows you to run them lighter. They have two holes in them one in the mid and one in end. I cannot recall the weight but will check at shop tomorrow. there are different weights of rivets that you can put in as well. All yamaha parts. Overall weight is alot less than the recommended dalton that we tried. The shift seems better and the belt grip is much better. Not certain what you are referring to "17.2 outer 17.2 center 13.3 inner ". If you seen a yamaha clutch tuning chart you will see themon there with all the yamaha parts and weights of each component. Tune close with weights and then the shockwave to fine tune.

I was looking at the parts fiche last night and see they are 17.2 mm etc for rivets steel or alumiun just saw the chart for the 2010 they must have 3 hole weights as they call for 3 positions of rivets. When I first saw the chart I assumed they were talking grams per rivet My mistake.

yamaha part number 90261-06033-00 rivets are 17.2 mm and 4.5 grams each
the weight itself is 48.7 grams.
loaded up will give you a 57.7 gram weight.
this may not look like enough but it works great for stage 2 at elevation. It is a aggressive profile and provides lots of squeeze with the 14.5 rollers. Hope this helps.

Talking to the boys after their first ride on an 010 with the 180 kit
8BU with 17.2 rivets, stock spring and stock roller and stock secondary was giving them 8800 rpm
I dont think it's going to pull a steep secondary like a 240 kit

Totallyamaha, go to the technical pages, snowmobile, scroll down half way and there are the charts for all yamaha clutching and gearing.

Thanks guys was away a few days, did find some of those pn's on parts fiche will check out totally yamaha. 0007 what elevation were they running with the 2010s

6500 - 7000ft
the sled was missing the TCV but was running 7lbs boost, Soft snow
Its probably not perfect final spec but it should be real close

Considering the Supremetool Supertip 50 gram base, you can add up to 40 grams to each, arm profile looks agressive like the 8bu. The 8bu-00 sounds good but would be light for at home so instead of a couple sets thinking adj. is the way to go.
