I am new to four stroke and have bought a used Apex with MCX boost.I am just wondering if I am missing a cover under the turbo in the tunnel?

Thanks in advance

That is the way they come, i closed mine in to keep the area free of snow. It's beneficial to try and retain as much heat energy as you can for the turbo. I would suggest a cold air intake as well if you don't already have.

You should have a cover of some type... we used a piece of expanded metal for ventilation but something to keep the track from hitting.

I don't think the track could hit it...I was thinking more for keeping the snow off,but what do I know?
This is new stuff for me.

Dave, i have a custom plate in mine that has some holes drilled in it. It also extends to the back and covers the muffler/turbo tray that used to cut the lugs off the track. That was an issue when the Apex was new. Yamaha came out with their own plate 4 months later. I used to have a picture of it but i can't seem to find it.

Found it LOL. This was a while back but its still like that !
