Anyone other than Climbmax running one of the MCX display guages ? Did they get the bugs/instructions all figured out. Anyone ?

i have one now. instructions......none. bugs?? seams to work just fine. i tell you later when the snow falls and the fuel map is finally right.

he!!, do they have them out now?? I was waiting for one for over a year now. kept back dating production time. let us know how they work.

I had mine a year, works flawless, logging is priceless when you finetuning!

Just got mine today. The instruction sheet is not up to much but I see an installation manual with lots of info is on the software disc. I haven't used one before but am looking forward to fine tuning our sleds this year with the help of this unit.

Noob, I think you were getting bad information from somewhere. They only recently ran out of stock.
These are great displays/tools. I would highly recommend them for anyone that wants to fine tune the fueling on their sled.
The instructions are ok for setting up, but not much after that. I haven't heard of any bugs in them and have been using them for a year.

hey noob save your money....I'm sure you will change something before the snow hits....:D

I was expecting the display to have a connector to plug into the ECU. Turns out you have to connect each wire to the pins individually. Other than that looks OK. I also have to find somewhere to mount the sensor as I have ordered a CR tunnel dump kit. Anyone put a sensor in? the MCX had it in the muffler pipe which is not being used. I am thinking I will have to weld a new sensor bung in the CR tunnel dump pipe.

Sly, be careful of you distance to the opening of the tunnel dump so as not to get false readings. The display should just plug in (if you have the 3rd gen EFI box).

Do you know what location I need to put the bung in at? At far as the display, I have the new thin style ECU and was told the display would plug in. Opened it up and the only connectors are for the O2 sensor, every other wire just has a single pin connector. I was told I could transfer the display from one unit to another, all the single wires are going to be a pita. I think I better call the suppler, maybe they sent me their old stock? Kinda sucks, as I was told it plugged in and when I ordered it that was one of my questions.

Sly, if it is for the new thin EFI box, then there should be a connector that plugs into the second spot on the EFI box. The wires from this connector should go to the display and the O2 sensor connector.
You can easily change the display between sleds with the new style EFI box. Unplug from the EFI box and unplug from the O2 sensor (or remove the O2 sensor) and install on the other sled.
A picture would help determine if you have the display for a 2nd gen box.

I'm thinking I don't have the new display. I definitely have the new ECU's, these units only recently arrived and the ECU's are thinner than both styles that I used last year, as well as having the socket for the plug in display. I'm going to call the distributor tomorrow as I'm pretty sure he made a mistake and sent me the wrong unit.:(

The display is the same, it is the method of connecting it to the EFI box that is different.
Bummer for the inconvenience, but you will be happy when you get it working. It is a great tool.

Again, the displays are all the same, but yours is definately wired for the older style EFI box.
The new style box would have the display wires and the AFR wires already connected to the small connector to be plugged into your EFI box.
The connectors are a different size, so you should contact the person you purchased it from.

I called them and explained the connectors are too big. They are going to call MCX and see what to do. I told them it looked like it was for the older style. They must not sell very many. Do you know which style ECU it will fit? I may have someone else that can use it with one of the first style of Nytro ECU's, the thick one with the fins on that came with an extra fuel pump.

Sly,
The EFI box you describe is the one that your display was set up for use with. The pins need to be installed in the large connector that goes into the bottom of that box.
Of course, you need to know where.
Feel free to contact me.
