MCX Apex Air Filter Setups ?

The bigger then filter = lower over all air velocity and no icing up.
On the Phazer some of our guys go with 2 stock filters, one out back will ice up make it 2 on a PCV pipe and no icing at all.
So double up or go with the biggest filter with prefilter available.

I use the RU1770 K&N with thier prefilter {can't find that number} . ALMOST no problems with it.

Heres what I did on mine....seems to work ok so far....2ft of heavier new snow. Been double socking it...pull the outter on off and clean it...so far so good.

JFYI the K&N Snowcharger is actually produced by Outerwares for K&N. Water repellent material that will wear out in a season or so. Cheers

Snow_knight, I have the CR racing setup on my 06 Apex and have not had any problems. You can order it from their website.

Summitboy, I don't know what the material is around the prefilter.

I have a CR as well. I'm not sure what the material is on the CR. I don't think its Outerwares or SLP. I know on the really deep days some ice does build in the metal strainer. I think you really need to do filter maintenance, and keep it clean.

Went riding yesterday and lost my brand spankn new cr racing intake.. Had that thing crazy tight in there.. just must have kicked it when switching from side to side.. lookd for couple hours and didnt find it.... I'm going to see what it will cost me to replace if.. if its more than the k&n with prefilter.. I will just order the K&N

After examining the Outerwares filter, i believe the CR is a Outerwares. JFYI
