ok, weather is looking somewhat dry but lastnight it said 30percent snow and we got 2inches so sometimes the weatherman is wrong. We have 30 and 40 percent chances the rest of the week till the weekend and it gets up to around 60 percent on sunday!!!!!
the good thing is it is staying cold, really cold
last sunday
A group of us (about 7) rode from the north face (lower) parking lot on Brundage last sunday. No problem going from there and less truck time than the top lot.
The snow was crusty and you had to pay attention to what was under the snow... I found a log at one point but avoided any damage. The traction was really good. You could climb almost anything but the side hilling was a little tough cause the sled didn't want to dig in much... still tons of fun.
I met most of the guys that day but hope to ride with them again. A couple were more familiar with the Trinity mtn area so I'm hoping they take me along for their next trip there.
As for future riding, I'm always looking to link up with new friends to ride. Mostly like the boondocking thing so if that fits your style shoot me a note. I grew up in McCall so that is the place I like to go most of the time. Last year was GREAT !!! but I like the fact that I can be riding for quite awhile on West mtn in the same amount of time it takes me to finish the trip to McCall.
Likely be up this weekend with the girl for more fun in the snow so... see ya there.

cool, im 17 now and have lived in mccall for 13 years. I love it here. I have been riding scence i was 6. I am a backountry boondock type of rider as well. I have been riding with chris burandt for the last 3 seasons when he comes up here so dont think i will be a hold up because i am a youngin. I will hold my own(not trying to be ****y lol). I will be riding saturday and sunday probably by wongs or slab butte.. Maybe over by goose too. See ya there!
almost all that country is groomed now where there is snow.
last weekend we couldn't get a cat up there, but the cat has been there for 3 long hour days making all the trails really good.

cool doug, thanks. Was that you plowing the green gate lot with the skid steer last week. I think I saw ya. We need to get out and ride together. I drive a blue f250 with the sled deck and plates YBAR. See ya around.

thers tons of snow in McCall my budy went up last weekend said snow was awesome.
yes there is, we are about caught up to snow to date ratio. atleast in the mountains. Town is still around 10 to 12 inches

A group of us from Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry are coming down Feb. 3-10 going to stay at one of the condos and play would be cool to meet someone from the area
I am in!!! Let me know when you get here or something. Ill take you to some good places. I rode past the fischer creek saddle today and the crust has softened and there is about 7 inches of light fresh snow. Good conditions!!!!

Ya man!!! we went to McCall today after driving passed the southern lot of west mtn.... not much snow there down low.
but McCall was really good. it snowed on us all day and was still doing it when we left. thinking about heading back on tues or thur cause i have those days off... looking for riding partners.
