McCall Res.

Brundage Reservoir Snotel says 11", so maybe 15" at Hazard lake. I'm heading out this morning(Thanksgiving) to do some trail miles.

You guys are nuts. Couple inches in McCall as of yesterday, may have melted today.
Honestly, there may be a few inches up high, maybe more. Look at the upper Brundage cam on the Brundage website. I wouldn't ride a kid's downhill snow sled on that much snow, lol. Honestly, from where I sit in the middle of the valley in Donnelly, the mountains look MUCH better to the south, towards Cascade. Jug Handle area looks like it has some snow.
Brundage reports 36 inches or so this year, but you have to rememer that most of it was a month ago, guys WERE road riding then, but most of it melted, it was in the 50's in town this week. They report 8" in the last week, and I would bet a chunk of cash that is all they have up there, less after settling. We had a nastly meltdown until 2 days ago, then a bunch of thunderstorms and now cold.
Ride safe.

You are both right and wrong. There is only maybe 5" at brundage, however just a few hundred more feet of elevation and the snow doubles. There was 18-20" around Hazard lake yesterday. I put on 82 break in miles yesterday.

Mike I talked to tyler the one who took that picture, he said there is right around 3ft plus once you get above 7k. That has been the snow line for the past few weeks till just recently, not much low, but gets wayy better soon as you climb in elevation a bit.

TY must be multiplying by 2. :face-icon-small-con I never saw anthing much over 20", not including drifts.

Did you get above 7k? This was on the ridge above Black Dog

I was up around 8000' in several places, none was deeper than about 20". Snowtel says it's snowed 2-3" more since that ride.

I'm driving a ways (not above Mccall) today to get to better snow. The snowtel says 27" in this area, so at the top it could be closer to 3'.

Wish I had thought about calling Marc :/

My riding buddy is lds and another guys sled is broken atm so I was trying to think of someone to go up with today for a break-in ride.

Have fun, post some pics up when you guys get back.

Lol, well I could be wrong. Happens once every couple of years......;) But I have driven that entire area in my truck in the summer, and I refuse to even ride until there is a good 4-5 foot base. There is NASTY stuff up there, you wouldn't believe it unless you see it in the summer. Bud always said "you have to be careful here" and "stay in this area here", I never believed him until I saw it in the summer.
But then again, I haven't bent an a-arm in over 15 years, so maybe I am too cautious....

The snow level will likely be 6000' or higher, so coming up from the new meadows side might require driving up higher than the parking lot.

Man I hope this prediction is right, 2 feet of new snow!

I rode in McCall on 25 th and 26th of November and at brundage resivor there was about 15inches. The fisher creek side still had a lot of rocks, trees, and stumps showing although there was about 3 feet up towards the end of the road. On the goose lake side the snow was much deeper and softer. We got up into twin lakes and did some climbing on the shady sides of the hills but still had to be very careful. Looks the there about to get hammered with snow the rest of the week. I'm going up Saturday and there expecting 3 feet of fresh snow by Sunday. I will let you know how it goes. If planning on riding be carful there's a lot of rocks just under the snow we lost a couple a-arms which brings up a point. I'm looking to buy lower a-arms for 2011 pro rmk. Thanks

heading up tomorrow to put in some break-in miles. i'll update the snow conditions tomorrow evening
