McCall Cabin over New Years...

I'm looking for any info for a Cabin to rent over New Years in the McCall area. Something that will accommodate trailers, sleeps 4-6 people and isn't too far from the main area of McCall. If you have any ideas please let me know.

Thanks... Scott

You should talk to these guys. They were at the snowshow. Really interested in snowmobilers. Said you could drive right out of the place. There across the road from the big parking lot at the bottom of Brundage Mountain Ski road.

Call one of the property management co's-McCallCabins.com 208-630-5045. Four Season Rentals 208-634-3745 (rentalsofmccall.com) There are some very nice places for rent but I'd deal with a professional if you can. If you have questions about a specific area of town (after you find something) I might be able to help. Pres. of the McCall Snmbl club is Ted Thornton.

Check out accomidation services mccall id, we stayed at lake fork lodge a few years back .very nice

Shore Lodge is coming back, now in the hands of Idahoans. Might be a great place to stay, cross warren wagon rd. cruise through bear valley, bingo back side of Brundage. Something to keep a eye on..

boy, i'd be curious as to who owns this now.

The old owner was a REAL JERK IMO.. I had heard tamarack resort (middle of bankruptcy) bought them out.

so who owns it??

the rest of the suggestions are all great ones.

I don't know, it says Mike & Linda Corbet, and Jim & Cory Corbet, on the webpage. They said they had just purchased the place. The son was a snowmobiler, and the dad was a skier and snowmobiler. But mostly, they were trolling for customers. Nice enough people.

How could something like this happen, and you not know about it Doug? :)

hey, never mind!

the guy i'm thinking is none of these folks. Meadowcreek lodge with a friendly manager woudl be a GREAT place to ride from!!!!!!!!

it is like 3 miles from high elevation, all groomed. also lots of trail riding to the south on red ridge.

Huh I think Mr Scott is a bit of a sled guy:D! The public info says a group with the Agri-beef crew and one of the Sabala's kin. Gotta think some of Joe Scott's money and lot's of the other guy's work. Anyway all great old Idaho families with long time McCall connections. A good thing for us regular JOES that love to do the McCall thing. (golf boat off road party and sled)

COOL..us regular folks only used Whitetail to park at while we were getting chilli bombs at Lardo's! It's an awesome lodge hotel type place that the rich and famous from San Diego used as their personal show piece. TIMES IS HARD I GUESS!:):):)

Hey Doug did Meadow Creek sell? Saw it was listed. An old friend bought that some years back but I've lost track of them (C McNeal group). I know it was a struggle from a golf course management standpoint...absolutely beautiful club house! Shame it wasn't put to more activity...hidden gem like you say for access to Brundage riding zone.

Joe Scott, Rich Hormachia (spelling?), and John Sabala LLC now own The Shore Lodge (formerly The Whitetail Club). Room rates start at $99 (stared at $325 when it was Whitetail). They are trying to move it towards a more "price friendly" lodge. By far the nicest place to stay in McCall. Decent parking but I havn't seen the parking lot in winter yet.

It's kinda exciting to see the Whitetail go back to Shorelodge! Definitely a very nice place to stay! Love their roomy suites and Emma's restaurant has always treated us with very good food! I hope they keep the chef around!

Scott - you can also try InIdaho.com. Some of the realtor's have vacation rental listings too (like Coldwell).

Hawks Nest, Fredericks and Harris lakeside lodgesare 3 places right next to each other on Lick Creek Road that I highly reccommend to sledders. There is pretty good amount of parking for trucks and trailers in front of the homes or above on Lick Creek road. You could probably ride from there too. If you have a big group - the Harris Lodge accomodates well! If you have a really big group, book all three! Doesnt look like it's booked for new years according to the website.

It is WAY cool the shore lodge is back open for business. I think there are going to be some raging deals for us there. And, Joe Scott has done more for snowmobiling then the rest of us will probably do in our entire lifetimes. He is one of our best champions, and by all accounts a really great person.

Isn't InIdaho owned by the deboers, who also own Brundage ski resort, and who also are trying to chase snowmbiliers out of the brundage and McCall areas????

Are the three places you mentioned also tied into the Deboers????

I know some of the Sabalas are into motor sports too, just did a little jetski bouy bashing with one of them a month ago on the lake at Firemans Point. So it's not only a great place to stay and eat, it sounds like a great team to support with our hotel dollars period!

I dont know if the three homes are in association with the Deboers? They are listed on VBRO.com, not sure about InIdaho.com, and also have their own website - you can access it by my link above and maybe find out more info? The owner seemed to be very freindly and helpful the one time I spoke to him (and brought up sledding) and he hasnt expressed any animosity towards any of my rowdy sledder friends that book the three places out every year. They seem to keep everything plowed out good for extra trucks and trailers.

I went through last night and Shore Lodge had a ton of vehicles in their lot! Very good for the off season and especially a Sunday night. Good for them...I hope they do well with it.

Also note the major road construction in town is almost complete! YEA YEA...just a few manhole covers to put in. It is going to be an excellent improvement in flow now that there are actual turning lanes.

The winter feel is there! We are getting pretty close...a couple of wet storms and things will fire right up. My personal preference would be about MID NOVEMBER for the official season's start. Then just like last year...MASSIVE DUMPAGE

Rob, to answer your question about Meadow Creek, no it did not sell at auction. Not one single bid was offered. There were reps from Potlatch, the Debour family, and the Nezperce tribe along with a couple others that slip my mind right now. Anyway no one made an offer and I just found out that Ernies Stake house is going to shut down too. That is to bad because they have great steaks (biased because we pasture some of the cattle). My uncle has a place at Meadow Creek and he talked to the McNeal family a couple days ago and I guess at this point things are still up in the air. I hope they get things worked out because it is a fun place to play golf, eat great steaks and to stay if you rent one of their condos.
