McCain tucks tail and runs

McCain is trying to back out of the debate Fri...to rush to Washington to solve our economic woes. A topic he has readily admitted he knows very little about!

The McCain campaign has offered to reschedule the debate for October 2nd, which just happens to be the date set for the first VP debate. If he is so excited for "America to meet Sarah Palin" why do they keep her locked up?

She has only done 3 interviews since being picked while Biden has done almost 100 interviews?

McCain has also decided to suspend his entire campaign? Stop all commercials (gee wouldn't be because they are almost out of funds) and quit fund raising (kinda esay to quit something that is not working).

As his numbers are slipping on all fronts McCain needs to be campaigning more than ever!

McCain needs to get some new advisors or stop listening to the ones he has been if he is to have any hope of winning this election.

Where was Obama when McCain wanted to to have those Town Hall debates then?

yep were was he at that would of been 10 town hall meetings!!but obama said no way!!mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

tick tick tick that's the clock keeping track of time till obama implodes from the inside out, its coming soooooon!!

So he is actually doing something to try and help our country by going to washington and helping with the financial crisis and this is a bad thing? Seems like thats a pretty good presidential quality to me rather than being so selfish that all he is concerned about is debating and trying to get more people to like him but maybe I'm just confused :)

Town halls are not part of the Presidential campaign process unlike the Naitional debates.

It wouldn't be that McCain wants to have town halls because that is one of the few arenas where he feels comfortable speaking publicly?

Maybe the VP debate should be on a Moose hunt!

McCain has not returned to the Senate since he began this campaign. Now all of of sudden when it looks like the republicans may stop the bailout, which would reflect poorly on him, he is rushing back to DC. FYI he is still chilling in New York...

I personally would prefer a Prez that could do more than one thing at a time....lets just hope nobody hands McCain a piece of gum!

sounds like a good opportunity for him to learn how this circle jeck of an economy works! I would like to see him working to help! I mean that is his job at the moment! I am guessing he is thinking that he should prove he can do the job he has before recieving a promotion!

McCain is concerned about the economy starting to collapse and you are worried about a debate that can be rescheduled.

If he is so concerned he should make sure that he is going to be in a position to solve the problem, which is what the next President will have the power to do.

Sounds like he try to be right now! :D Unlike Obama who would rather shy away from important times and important decisions!

So who is actually tucking tail here?

He is tucking tail to help us.
It is his people setting up the pres, obama and himself's meeting.
They are leading the progress to help us, before anyone gets into the big office in 4 months

I can see someone being a part of something for 20+ years feeling the urgancy to return and provide thought and insight as well as lending support for the direction he believes this should go , doing just what he is doing.

I can also see someone with far less than 3 years in the same position thinking no big deal , what am I going to provide anyhow ?

I remember why I hate politics though.

They both still have jobs in the senate, McCain is stepping up to do his while
Obama is willing to do or say anything to get elected.
This is a perfect example of what true leaders do, they put the country first.
Obama never give a crap about his senate job to begin with, why would he now.
Presidents don't get to vote " Present " or say "call me if you need me"

This proves alot about the men wanting to be comander and chief.

I'm referring to McCain.
There is no reputable news indicating that Obama is not working on the financial crisis. In this day and age there is no reason why you have to go to Washington to deal with this issue. Seems an Archaic move on McCain's part. I don't think an Archaic approach to solving problems will sit well with some voters. I'm sure it's a political move and his camp believes it will help him. And liekwise for Obama's camp.
The people who are already going to vote for him love the move. Fence sitter might not.

Which candidate are you referring to?

How so? Just wondering exactly what you mean here?

Am I the only one who is scared to death about the thought of either of these guys running the country?

A leader needs to be able to effectively handle multiple crisis at once. You dont get to pick when a crisis will happen.

Plus I personally assign McCain 20+ years of the blame...Obama has 3 years of blame, they are our Govt. and they did not regulate the financials and even voted for deregulation. Which helped wallstreet with this scam.

But I dont buy into credit period. I pay cash and if I dont have the money something costs I cant buy it. Credit will be the undoing of us all.

Funny thing is by paying cash all the time my quality of life isnt much different then most...except I dont have to worry about paying the bills. That how my Dad did it and that how his Dad did it, and thats how I have been doing it for a long time now. This whole mess is because we will not live within our means.

Just my 2 cents.

the thought of either of these guys running the country?

You do know this isn't a dictatorship, right? The president doesn't run the country, congress does...

The presidential position has turned into a scapegoat for congress to keep doing business as usual, deflecting blame upwards. Yes the president is the leader of the executive branch, but it is only 1 of three branches, the other two have quite a bit of power, with the legislative branch having the most IMO.....

The outcome of the presidential race will have an impact on the US, but not to the extent everyone seems to make it out to be.....
