MBRP or HPS can

I can buy the MBRP locally (Edmonton) but would order the HPS if it's a better can. I've read that the stock suitcase works best at altitude when were down on power .Maybe thats where the increases or decreases show up the most.I've also followed the Thing can from it's early testing stages but have no experience with any of them.Specialty sells there X can,It's ceramic coated and might keep temps down.I picked up my new sled friday (163X) , went to Valemont and the recoil crapped out at allen creek.Bro on his Dragon couldn't stop laughin.Anyways just looking loose some weight and get a little attitude.

we run hps on all our sleds--have tested stock against the hps and there is no change in power at 10000 feet on the Beartooths---ceramic coated cans only---non coated melt $h!t:eek::eek:

I know Kelsey at RKT recomends the skins ultra q and super q because they mimic suitcase performance with a huge weight saving.

Love the sound of my friends xp with an mbrp can - there was a thread on here last fall that said the mbrp was the only can tested that actually showed power improvements over stock, and that some of the ones tested (the thing?) showed a few hp loss.

Go with the HPS! Great sound and I actually got increased performance out of it. I have had both and I sold my MBRP to a buddy so he could wrap his sled around a tree.

Who has got the loudest can out there for a 09 800 summit?

You have to be kidding! It's that attitude that is helping in creating the problems that we sledders are facing. Please read the following email that I just received from SAWS.

SAWS Members,

Last week we informed you that the US Senate had passed HR146 by a vote of 77 - 20. This week we must inform you that the US House has also passed HR146 by a vote of 285-140. The bill is now off to President Obama's desk for his signature, where it will then soon become law, and 2 million more acres will become closed to multiple-use as they are added to the existing 107.4 million acres of the National Wilderness Preservation System.

MBRP runs great for me......

I must have said this 10 times. It seems like the guys south of the border run the HPS but the guys north run the MBRP.

Any can you get will NOT MAKE MORE POWER! There was a post on Doo Talk a year or 2 ago and the one that lost the least amount was the MBRP.

I cant remember but it was like .5 hp loss and the hps was like .65 hp loss. Nothing.

Dealer had the mbrp so thats what I bought. Sounds good, not too loud and have 2k kms with no issues.

What ever you decide, you will be happy with.

I just threw on Scott's HPS can on my 06', and it's fantastic. Great sound at idle, and when put it to the grip you get an even better sound that is not ear shattering like thr MBRP or Thing. Great fit and finish. Plus the service from Scott is hard to beat.
