May have lost my key....HELP

I might have lost my key after lat weekends ride... Is there any way to bypass the key ignition on a 2013 pro? Don't think I'll have time to get a key before this weekend.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I used a buddies key pushed it in half way turn to the run position and pull the key out. As long as you put the key half what in you can remove it. Good luck

He nailed it. Not to mention, odds are good if your buddy has an extra key, it may work in your sled. Poo only has a handful of key codes. I think AC has five, used to have two. My 11 and 14 have the same key code, FWIW.

Thanks so much guys! It wouldn't make a difference if it has electric start right?1

Nope, no difference if it has electric start or not, you'll just have to pull start it, obviously. Your kill switch will work as usual. Polaris only has 5 different sled keys, which are denoted by dots in the rubber cover on the key above where it says "Polaris" (they also have different part numbers, but the dots are the easy way to identify them if they still have the rubber cover). If you take your sled to your dealer, they should have them all in stock (most of us do) and they can just try them until they find the one that works.

I had a riding buddy (family member) lose a key during a ride. All my sleds now us a fishing wire leader line that secures the key to the sled. My setups are removable but I usually just pull the tether for security.

The ignition keys are a joke and a serious thief won't have to work hard to steal your sled.

I also have a spare key stored out of side on the sled. On one sled it is stored in a tunnel storage container, another it is plastic riveted inside the engine compartment, and on another it is hot glued under the foam in a storage container mounted on the belt guard.

Its good to know that pulling the plug works too.

Leatherman. Used the thin flat screwdriver and no probs. You might have to wiggle it a little to push up the locking pins in there, but that is a very crude keylock they put on.

Polaris only makes a handful of key combinations, if you have several buddies with Polaris sleds, have them try their keys, with the one that works, note the number of dimples on the plastic , and pick up that key from your dealer, my sled and a buddy's have the same key, a 4 dimple key.

Also on the side of the ignition there is a letter stamped into it. The letter will match with the number of dots on the key. A is 1 dot. B is 2 and so on. But ya just unplug the ignition to get by for the time being.
