i was looking for a sled deck and i really like the old style marathons but seems to me they only make the truck boss. Can a guy still order a classic style deck from them?

Marathon dropped the classic line quite a while back (Summer of 2010 if I remember correctly) and only sell the Truck Boss now. You might find some dealers that still have stock on the classic. Our last Marathon classic deck was sold last fall.

will they still make parts like the folding extensions? I wanted to order a custom deck but looks like i need to go elsewhere. any other recommendations for other brands? The truckboss looks pretty but thats as far as it goes in my opinion, looks like a good way to destroy a box after some heavy use.

Truck Boss seems like it would be a PIA to remove frequently. The Classic only requied four bolts. Just my casual observation, as the owner of a Classic...

just watched the truck boss deck video and you can actually leave the mounting rails in and the entire deck will slide out like the ramp itself, from what i understand, pretty slick but. like marathon stated in their video its for the guys who want a functional topper.

im pretty sure you can set the new truck boss up on 4 legs like the old deck as well . they had legs on one in their show room

The TruckBoss is definitley a new look at the sled deck but as far as stability or strength I believe it is an advancement in the way decks are designed. The original had legs that stood/protruded onto the truck bed creating four points of stability/strength (not necessarily/ever onto the frame of the truck). the new design has the rails that clamp to the bed rails (the same bed that the previous design had the four single points) (single ponits with nothing but the thin/same bed that the new deck and bed uses along the full length of each side of the bed)

Change is good. Improving is even better.
