Making a Dragon Fly!!!

the curves are big. peak hp and trq from 7900 - 8300 and only down a point before and after. Think my grama can clutch this. 110 lbs torque

Gave the dragon a good test run this weekend! Put about 170 miles on. I’m running it with the thermostat out for now. Temps were better than I thought they would be, 104-115 while beating the s#it out of it threw the trails and fields! It does take some time to let it warm up to 100 before I ride it though. Only issue I had was one time when running it down a road covered in snow to see what my RPM’s where for clutching. I held it open for a descent amount of time. Enough to be able to see what the tach was saying at WFO for about 15 seconds. The check engine light came on and it went into limp mode. Actually thought I cooked it because it would not come out of limp mode. I shut it off checked plugs they looked rich. Started it back up and it ran fine. Beat the sh!t out of it for another 70 miles, never missed a beat!!

great write up
by chance do you know what hp jims seeing out of a stock motor with pipe and can and pc5
just curious thanks

Nice job...So this was with the April Flash on all the runs I take it?

Also, did you installl stock polaris pistons?

What head did you go with?

Did you completely take out the T-stat or just gut it?

Yep April flash, stock pistons, stock reeds, and power addiction head. I use to have just 4 small holes drilled in t-stat and had no problems. Jim wanted me to have t-stat out for dyno runs so I figured I would leave it out and try it on the trails and it's working good for me so fare. But I never had a heat issue before like other peole seem to have.
One person I talked to said his temps were good but then all of a sudden it started running hot. He changed the fuel filter ( could barley blow threw it) and then everything was fine.

Spent some more time tinkering with the dragon. Clutching and gearing is starting to come together. I added 2 points of fuel to my PCV map between 7500 and 8250, @ 100% thrtl. And now I can hold WFO for quite awhile. Never went into limp mode again. And it was much warmer temp out side this time also 33*- 34*. Engine still running very good temps 115 to 128. Thinking about putting T-stat back in and trying it. Warming up to 100* every time does take a bit. Just got a shipment of more goodies from TEAM Ind. to play with! Can’t wait! This sled FLY’S!!!:face-icon-small-hap

Iantomassi Track and Trail is a race motor builder out of Bowmanville, their motors are in some of the fastest Polaris and Ski-Doos out there. Thought maybe you were getting them to do the Porting work for you!
