rained in town last nite, supposedly snowed up higher can't see no visibility..

ski area is opening up on friday, and somebody launched out of the parking lot this morning to head to the ridge (not familiar with truck or trailer).. soon as I get my trailer back from my buddy I'm going to check it out.

I started this conversation in the General Forum to ... and they say:

6 inches of rained on slop here in town. The Mammoth Mountain is opening Friday and they are claiming 3-4 feet at mid-chalet (9630') and 4-5 feet on the upper mountain (11053').

I'm actually glad I am not picking my sled up until next week because I know I would ride it and break it for sure.

That said we have a great base for the season. Skiing on Friday morning, mountain biking after lunch, and get the evening hatch on the Upper O makes for a great day.

I think Mammoth and Leavitt received or is keeping the most snow.

Other places are just wet and slushy.

Too bad temps will climb 20F between now and Saturday.
