Mahindra to offer Pickups in the US

Isn't Wyoming one of the small handful of States that do not have a State budget deficit?

That is correct, the senate here isn't stupid, they've created a system that can self sustain regaurdless of the situation of the national economy, besides the job market crashing, the state is still staying healthy and doing its best to take care of is low population (key is the low population)

European standards aren't nearly as high as the US.

gas machines are quite close, diesel emissions standards use to be harder in the US than in Europe, but now they are getting to be very close. IMO that is not a good enough excuse. The manufactures just didn't want to sell vehicles that had / have a lower profit margin. Like the push for big suv's and trucks...

We would have many more small deisel options if we had more commonsense emmisions standards in the us. Our gov is doing a fine job of regulating the diesel engine out of existence.

Not really. Large trucks and off road vehicles have pretty lax standards compared to many other developed countries. Yes small trucks and and cars have pretty high emissions standards, but it wasn't until the year 07-08 I think that the standards were too high.

Just look at VW. They have been selling diesels for a long time, and have an enormous following.

The big three didn't build diesels here because they didn't want to. It is as simple as that. They could and did make more money not selling diesels (except for large 3/4 ton to 1 ton) then they could have by selling them.

All the big three have technology available for building good little diesel motors. Pretty much all vehicles here are available elsewhere with a diesel option.

IMO the big problem with diesels is the extra tax cost compared to gasoline. Once the tax becomes the same, you will start to see a bigger shift.
