I have my 999 mad max cat engine for sale. I am getting into airplanes and need the money for another project. The chassis is also for sale but I want to sell the engine separate because it will work in any number of projects. Beals has one in a Rev if you want to contact him, I'm sure he can explain how he got it to fit. This engine is an HONEST 180-190HP, which means over 200 on some nosepickers dyno.
I did have some problems getting it to run at first, but it was because I was two much of a chicken to lean it up and let it rev and I couldn't figure out how to clutch it. This engine likes to run at 1275 egt and will do it all day long. Now that I've gotten rid of my atacc and leaned it up, and got the clutching figured out, it flys.
The engine has been apart once to get the cases replaced (they where damaged in shipping and the post office finally bought me a new set) so the cases have 2 seasons on them and the engine has 2 seasons and 3 rides on it. The pistons still have the oil groves on them and the cylinders have the honing marks. This engine has never been burn down.
Here are the details:
1. RKT head with sea level domes.
2. Crank has been pinned and welded.
3. Cutler 1000 pistons.
4. Porting has been done by Bob at mad max
5. Boyeson reeds
6. The main bearing was done by Art Server and is the double doo bearing mod which eliminates the cat rattle at idle.
7. The engine is setup for premix and has never seen anything less than 38:1 blue marble.
8. The valves are pinned open.
I would like to get $3k for the engine as its in very good shape and because I have that into just the porting, pistons, and heads. Engine is the base engine complete without the starter, mags, or clutch.
I also have jaws D pipes that are ceramic coated and have a stinger can (that isn't coated) that exits out the front like an M sled.
I have a 6 tower clutch that has 3 seasons on it, super tip weights, a bunch of springs, helixes, a heel-x secondary roller setup with two helixes, rifle bored carbs, cdi, mag, flywheel, etc.
I also have a 156x15x2.5x3" pitch track that has two seasons on it, extrovert drivers, boss seat, digatron 4 window egt, forward post that mounts in front of the steering hoop, fly bars, and a bunch of other stuff.
Basically I'm building an airplane and have this sled that I don't have time to ride and need the money so get with me if your interested in the engine or any of the parts.
I'll try and get it disassembled and take some pictures soon.
