I am looking for some input on what else I need now that the turbo is ready to go in? Also what should I have with for spares?
M1000 reeds? Do I need spares? Yes, double stack them, atleast on the top as the top reeds go first
Fuel pressure gauge? Yes, mount it on the bars or where its visable, this was a huge problem for me last year...
Do I need more than 3 belts? Still 046? ...its no secret the 1000 turbo is a belt eater, The M1000 needs an additional motor mount period, the stock engine already has the holes for one, but AC chose to be cheap and not install it, i hear the older belts work good and they are way cheaper then the newer 1000 belt
How much hood venting? Side panel, shock tower, and beside the speedo enough? Three large vents next to the speedo is a very big deal for flow and removing heat, one on top and each side, but you cant run a hood bag anymore...i also love the idea of a hood lift, Kelsey sales a nice looking one, but im a cheap bastage and cut up an old ski spindle rubber, mounted it to the plastic bulthead and its works very well. Frog skins look great but they wont flow much air at lower speeds when it counts....i still like the stock wire mesh vents that come stock up front...ive also added a ton of frog skins to the underside bumper. Remove the wire stock hood wire mesh vent just above your turbo, lets snow in and melts on contact, plus the hot turbo will tend to make the snow ice over this wire mesh...as it should. also take these wire mesh vents off and softly bend them out so they wont act like a catchers mit and retain snow and ice
Spare sensor for the wideband? Well i had one go bad, some folks with the larger single exhaust that contains both the turbine exhaust and wastegate say they did had no issues with the O2 sensor....i will se for myself this year...NAPA sells this sensor for $100ish
Rollers? Extra clutch springs? The Rock rollers will last all season....maybe longer, prings last all season also
Suspension tweaks? I went cheap and aim for function, got the OVS rear coupler that has tunability....7 settings, from rock solid to not altering the rear shock at all....without this, you will be fethering the throttle on steep climbs or the sled will flip over
What else am I forgetting about? I am looking to be setup well and prepared for the common issues so I don't lose time waiting for parts when I am out west. Its 1100 miles one way....I started purchasing parts from Babbitt, much cheaper then any dealer and you dont have to talk to a 15 yr old kid who knows nothing about nothing
