Ok, heres what happend.

This is on a 2009 m8 Twisted

With only 125 miles the sled has very little low end power (I rode it this way for 3 days).

On the 4th ride it also had very little low end power - then all of a sudden the power hits and runs awesome. I keep getting a det code even when I would idle.
By the afternoon comming down the trail I could barely make it to the truck. I usually hear the turbo spinning while I ride it but that was gone and it was so quiet it was like I had a big muffler on the sled. Going down the trail I could only go 12 miles an hour, if I tried to hit the throttle it would die.

I did change the reeds but didnt help.
I have messed with the PL box but didnt want the AF to high on the bottom end.
I didnt bypass the blue air temp sensor (as I have seen other turbo sleds that have)

????

Any help would be appreciated. Going on an big trip and gotta get it fixed.

Sounds like she burned down...take off the Y pipe and verify Pistons. What color does the residue in the exhaust muffler look like? Is it White, Brown, or black. This can also verify a lean condition (White) good a/f(Brown) Rich (black)

Compression loss from a burn down can produce very low end power until the turbo spools to produce enough cylinder pressure to run efficiently.

Make sure the pipe is not cracked. While you are looking and the pipe, pull it off and look into the cylinders and if there is damage you will see it on the faces of the pistons.

We didnt do a compression check yet.

As for the pistions, took the Y pipe off and they look great, no scars, pits or rounding.

TPS out of adjustment? Try rotating it clockwise then run it..... keep an eye on A/F.

Pull off the air filter and try and wiggle the compressor wheel. If there is play in it you have lost your bearings. My buddy had this issue on his yamaha and I have the pics of me towing his "reliable" turboed Yammy off of the hill LOL!!! His sled was running like total crap and then the power would come on hard and then he'd let off and crap again. He pulled up beside me in this patch of trees and we heard a little pinking sound and knew right then that his bearings were shot but he was bagging the crap out of it until it got to that point. I towed him off so that no metal got sucked into his motor. Try it and see if your bearings are tight. Hope this helps.

It looks like I gotta take the Throttle bodies off to adjust this.

From the looks of it, there is very little adjustment on these ???

Just call Shain , he will be your best help . And he always awnsers or calls back . Do you have a filter in the oil supply line ? Who did the install ?

the above sounds like your problem to me......it must read very lean at the low end or you are simply way to rich.....dont think of A/F readings as proportional to temps....its not

Rich = bog.....more rich will make it bog more:face-icon-small-coo

reading in-between 16.8 and 17.8 should be very normal at ideal and when you hammer down, 12.3ish is good when she is at WOT for more then 2ish secs

Q: you say this is a twisted kit, but they you say it has a PL box??

also, i could never get my 08 deto to shutup.....removed from engine and installed to bulkhead just above the secondary

this deto sensor that cat uses is inferior to everything and is like tosssing up some grass in the air to measure windspeed:face-icon-small-dis

x2....

Well now you have to explain why?:face-icon-small-con :face-icon-small-hap

The tps has a very specific voltage range given for idle position and wide open throttle. It sends a signal to the cpu to let it know where the throttle is positioned so it can adjust the fueling as necessary. Being out of range will send a code to your cpu so it is unlikely that this is the problem.

Correct, being "too" far out of range will throw a code on an M8.
But maybe.......you can change the fuel curve...just a little....:sun:

Dont touch the TPS without the proper tester.

Like he said. Its takes a minimal amount of movement to be out of spec. I know cause i just changed my throttle bodies and had to adjust my tps with the proper tester.

Like said before there is a very narrow spec for the TPS. I have tried setting them on the high and low side of the spec with no noticable difference.
