M8 turbo needs strong Y-pipe

I don't weld any on the pipe itself, just the Y-pipe. I will bead blast it and weld the seem with my wire feed (mig) welder. Then I ceramic coat the Y-pipe again. I am suspicious about the ceramic coating holding too much heat in the Y-pipe and causing issues of cracking. If everybody else is cracking with painted Y-pipes then maybe the ceramic isn't an issue.

What type of welding have you done on the pipe? Have you tried any aftermarket pipes?

My suggestion would be, if you have to pay someone else to weld it, I would just buy a new or good used one. Chances are it is cracked more than you can see or it will crack when being welded.

Heres an example of my "crotch" problems on my TM8. I just got it sandblasted and noticed this fine little crack starting. I'm going to get it welded to keep it from spreading.

(Note: The discoloration on the pipe is from heat drying the pipe after they were cleaned. Got it a little hotter than I wanted.)
