A pump gas kit is for running pump gas. you are wasting your money on race fuel. I am no boondocker expert, but your pg kit will only support x amount of boost on pump gas. Your elevation has a lot to do with it as well. You will get a lot of opinions on this topic. give it an hour. Also, if you can afford to run race fuel, do the upgrade to a race kit. It is cheap. Then put the boost to it.

What elevation?
I can run 7 lbs safelywith 91oct. at 8k on my twisted if i choose to run pump.
I would only take advise on this subject from someone that runs the same kit at the same elevations you are running. As you probably know too
much boost = detonation. You can run a gallon of race with your pump gas as a safety factor. You never know the quality of the fuel at the station.

My 09 with 91 and 2 gal of 110 I can get 9.5-10 with about 96ish DC. This is at 8-11k feet. I was at 8.6 peak this weekend at 86 DC at 10,500 feet, lots more left on the table. Measuring peak boost is a bit of a misnomer on the BD kits as well.. need to make slow runs towards full throttle to get the most accurate measurement. Small bursts will give you a deceiving peak boost. I would DEFINITELY not over octane, waste of money and performance. Work your way down tuning and adding less and less race fuel.

The right answer
Its not Octane that regulates how much boost its delivery. You can run 120 Octane you run out of fuel your out. Octane is for detonation not supply. Think of boost pressure as compression in an engine and then it makes more scene so higher boost higher compression but if you have lack of fuel you will never reach that level of boost.

you are wasting a lot of money!!! (running straight race gas)
upgrade to the rg kit, then do like others have stated, get your target boost, then get your octane just right for the amount of boost.
very easy to know where to start.
