M8 Intake Vents, who makes a tuff one ?

Was riding up in trees and got into a tight spot, ended up tearing one of the intake vents  They are in such a Vulnerable place

Since its need to be replaced anyways, does anyone make a stronger one. I have been serching around I just havent been able to find anything ? I am trying to keep the factory intake, just replace the damaged screen with a stronger one.

I'm almost positive that noone makes a vent to replace the stock intake bezel that will work the way you need it to if you're still running a stock plenum.

Crap.....

I was afraid of that

Gi with Timbersled. I made a Mistake in Getting the Bdx blackbox for my intake. Wish I had timbersled now.. which i will One day. Sucks. Every time we go out and ride I have to clean it out. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Comon bdx. Your intake is great but it really should have been more Trail Sled Product. The Timber Sled Looks like it is elevated 5-6 inches off the bottom of the nose and you would never run into this problem and if you did wana get snow out u just have to reach in. and not deal with a plastic Cage that dosent look like it deals to well with cold.... I dont have the holes drilled in the belly pan. Getting Alot of snow in there....... vents are perect shape...... Sorry 2 drone here Just putting this info out there.

Just a Fyi. Id back anything timber sled and Diamond s makes.

WOW, I know probably over 30 People with the BD-x intake & never seen any one EVER have to clean it out. If you have to clean it out, the POS timberjunk intake would be completely full of snow.

Oh, yeah, we ride trails here in CO....

With SOOO many products it's all about the install. Do a 1/2 azz job, get a 1/2 azz product.

Thanks for all the input,

For the time being I will replace the high dollar $15 dollar intake..

As time permits I may fab my own with a alum intakes with more protection.......

I notice alot of people doing intake kits as stated above, I just dont want to run a fuel controler, BD Box etc.

Off the topic the timbersled intake is great, i guess when they first came out snow could get through but they have fixed that. The problem is in the nose cone snow comes through there unless it is sealed up, not hard to do!! I have heard of sleds completely packed with ice under the stock box and unless stored in a warm place its not good, and i have heard the bdx can get plugged up so unless you seal you will have a problem. Some snow gets into my nose cone but not enough to have ever effected my timbersled but if the pre-filter was to get plugged it would. I think a option for you rprecision might be to get some material and carefully hot glue it on from the back start with the small end glue about half compress with something solid then finish the rest, the hot glue should stick it no problem if done right and if your hood is already gutted (not sure) you dont need that same material, go with some pet screen if not use both the waterproof screen and the pet screen then re-install vent. I haven't tried this but hot glue sticks like a fly on **** and i am sure it will work, myself i would get a hold of the guy i mentioned can't be more than 30 bucks for new ones and they are very strong vents as long as he has those ones.

On cold days -10 to 10F The light dry powder (Cold Smoke) seams to find a way into the intake area. I have sealed all of the nose cone to bulkhead with silicone and duct taped the top of the intake cover to the nose cone. This for the most part has stopped the problem. You also have to check the thin cut you make in the fender to put the block off plate tab into. This can also lead to snow infiltration.

yep..i have zero probs with timbersled..i just use the nice soft pliable 3/4 pipe foam to seal nose cone...easy to do...easy to replace.
