M8 2010 rpm

Depends what gear you're shifting from man.

They've got a real low axle ratio and a sticky torque coverter on some...

Lets wait for the things to be available to the average market before EVERYONE starts asking these pretty well un-answer-able questions....

I just laugh.....

I heard through a good source that next years m8 has the new yellow powerband in it and should redline at 10000 rpm. Also comes with a sequential transmission with handlebar paddle shifters.......

???...properly tuned and dailed it should hold appro 8200 with slight first over rev all the way through from hitting the throttle at engagement to top speed..i don;t understand what you mean...what gears..??..operating peak powerband is a narrow band..

Dyno Tech

When you look at the dyno sheet on the 2010 motor what they show is a motor that:

1. is super clean........fact cleaner and leaner than some of the supoosedly magic injections motors, is running on 93 octane, with no signs of deto..........and if you read the whole test setup, Suzuki gets by with this becasue of the new in 07 cooling system/twin spk plugs / and stock head interior cooling setup.

2. their tests show the 2010 engine making more hp and MORE TORQUE at 7500 rpm, but then the 10 engine continues to rev and make good power all the way to 8400 rpm where it still has 101 ft lb torque and 161 hp.........the meat of the powerband is 8200 rpm.......104ft torque 163.4 hp

07-09 motor on same dyno peak.......99.1 ft lb torque 145.3 hp 7700 rpm

the 07-09 motors sign off around 7800 rpm.

What this test doesn't show is what's happening from 5000 rpm up to 7500 compared to the old motor. If they are sacrificing low end torque to get this top end, then you will have the big version of the old 700 laydown engine......... which some of the M7 faithfull cried their eyes out when it wasn't delivered in 07......instead Sukuki delivered a torque motor in 07 with same as m7 top end power which was confusing to lots of cat newbies.

Always a new twist. anyway a new and higer bar for the 800 class.

Yeah, I wondered why the 800 didn't make at least 150, when it came out. But when I heard 160 for the new one, I thought, "great, peaky and hard to clutch", but not on that graph! You could clutch that with your eyes closed!

Remains to be seen if the new motor likes to be loaded hard like the others.
