anyone know what the ideal top RPM is for the 650?
my 146 is hitting 8050 max.
it appears the primary is not getting full shift out, about 1" of the sheeve top has no wear.
clutching is 100 stock, high altitude. stock belt. sled is geared down to QD2 ratio.

riding approx 7000ft. sled is nearing the end of break-in. has about 150 miles on it.

thoughts?
thanks

You have waited this long, wait until the break in is done as it might bump up. It will be about 8200-8300 as ideal I would bet.

The 650 runs around 8000, I had one and that's what it seemed to like. I read some articles and testing and they said the same. I'm sure you can push them more. However it ran well with stock clutching and my wife rode it mostly.

Manual says 8250 +/- 200 rpm. Mine will touch 8300 when I stab the throttle and settle back to 8050. I'm considering trying a spring for an 850 NA as it has 20 lbs less finishing tension.
