ive got an '06 m7 with 1600 miles on the clock and i have the engine apart to do some work on my crank. just wondering if there is anything i should replace while its apart. things to check. simple and cheap upgrades. just lookin for some pointers is all... and is there anybody on here that has a service manual for it they want to part with or know where i could get one.

thanks!!

I would replace both crank end seals while you have it apart. Check all the bearings for any roughness and the crankcase for any chatter marks. I would also check the condition of the oil/water pump shaft gear to the crankshaft gear. If you feel you may have any waterpump seal issues now would be the time replace that also.

Hope this helps Jeff

i was thinkin id replace all the seals and gaskets. and the t-stat. what should i look for on that gear?

i sent the crank to montana to get a lil cosmetic surgery ;)

o and is there any other common issues with the engine i should be looking into?

They are bullet proof motors. I have over 4000 miles of hell on mine and it runs like a champ. I would change the water pump shaft seal.

I would just check the water/oil pump shaft to make sure the teeth have no chips in them and that there are no bad wear spots on the shaft where the seals sit.

have some one port the case and the cylinders gives alot more power also new pistons while you have it apart

I know where you sent it and good luck with that. I have a buddy that had it done and it worked well but they are not 100% sure that it all works out in the long run. Great Idea though!
