m7 153?

My second Cat,

after coming off of a big bore King Cat it does not make the raw power, but it surprises alot of people. Since I have put on the Jaws twins it runs with any 800 around, and can even best some of them if they aren't clutched right. Stock for stock, the Dragon 7 does not have a thing on it, and I think the M is lighter (05) anyway.:D

I made up my mind a long time ago that I would not buy anything smaller than an 800. But under the circumstances last year, it was either make payments for my friend's 06 M7 LE, or sit the year out. On top of that, I had never ever been a fan of the Arctic Cat, I loved the Polaris I had, and always liked the REV. But I'm not stupid, so with a lot of doubts, I chose to ride, and started to pay off the M7. After 1 season all I can say is WOW! It's not the biggest or fastest sled on the mountain, but it just might be the most fun to ride. It has surpassed all of my expectations of what a mtn. sled should be. I still find myself glancing at the polaris and Ski doo sleds every once in while, but honestly... I'm keeping the M7. One of the things that I find most amazing, is it's durability. My friend also has one (now two) M7's as well. We love to play in the trees and try to make tracks that are impossible to follow. Needless to say, we had many, many bloopers. A good portion of the pictures we took last year were after either rolling, crashing, falling off, or any other casualty than can happen to a sled in the mtns. These things are very durable, and reliable machines...We have tested it!!!!!! Anyway sorry about the novel:(
Oh yea, the rails on a 153 can crack too, I've got the proof of that as well:D

Yes I do! Here are a couple of them. Warning to tree lovers...one, or more of these pictures contain graphic material, view at your own discretion! The last photo is an M1000, I guess they are not as tough:D:D

m7

Last year was my 1st year back riding after about a 10 yr break and I had my mind set on a new RMK 700 or 800. But I deciede to buy a used sled for my re-intorduction. I found a 06 M7 in the paper and even though it wasn't exactly what I wanted, I got a good deal on it. The best deal I ever got. I love this machine. Rock solid, easy to manuver in the trees. I'm sooo glad I got back into sledding and especially with this sled. No regrets.:D

I have a buddy that has an '05 162" and his slide rails cracked. Do you know of any problems with the rails on the 153"? They are shorter so I imagine that they hold up better, but just wondering.

Had a cracked rail on the M7 when I bought it with 250mi on it. Rode it for another 800mi before replacing it. I'd say not a huge deal, and you can pick up anew rail for like $99 or a used set for about the same $.

Can we please have a moment of silence....

Can we please have a moment of silence for those poor little trees you hurt....

This has been a nice thread for me. Just purchased a '06 M7 w/ 153" a couple week ago. Never ridden a M7, but I wanted the lightest most nibble sled I could find and everyone I talked to said I should get a M7.

Can't wait to ride it!

I'd like to have a moment here to try to clear my name. It's true, I have hit a tree or two (O.K. three) but I deeply regret my past sins! You see, it was about half way through the season last year that forever changed my life. I was riding through the forest without a care in the world, when I got into a bit of trouble on a steep hillside with many trees. Anyway, something happened and the next thing I remembered was me falling off of the trusty M, and it started a "death roll" down the mountain. I sat there, helplessly watching the soon to be death of my M, when out of nowhere, a big tree ran over to where the M was falling, reached out it's arm, and stopped the sled right there and prevented certain doom. That tree did not have to do that, it could of stood there and watched in glee because there was one less sled in the world. But it spared me, and my sled!! So I have been converted from my ways!! I am too a tree hugger and dam proud of it. And yes the picture of that memorable day was posted previously, If you look closely you will even see me kissing that tree, and if you look more closely you can see that my ski is in the firm grasp of that tree!! Sorry about this big book here, but hopefully, I can gain back a fraction of respect that I had lost from my fellow "enviromentalist" friends. Oh yeah.... M7's are cool!

Regarding skis - I'm liking the SLP Powder Pro's I put on on my 2006 M.

Better tracking and control than stock, slightly better float. They're not super wide - just a bit more width than stock - but I think overall a better design than the stockers.

Simmons Gen I's rock, they are a SWEET ski, the stock M ones arent bad at all, but I bet the Gen I would make that thing sidehill even better which is hard to beleive.

Your post almost brought a tear to my eye.... that was beautiful man! Your story is a great example...trees are our friends! I have never had a tree SAVE my sled, but many have helped me replace possibly faulty parts.

We have 15" of new snow and still snowing, I can't wait to try the M7.

You will love an M7 I have an 05 with a big bore kit and it's awesome. Don't know why but the 05's are a bit lighter than the 06's been meaning to ask what the difference is but not sure, 05's are 461 and 06's are 480. Can't see any difference but 19 lbs is quite a bit. Rode with a friend with an 08 153 M1000 and after riding mine he even said it would hang with his 1000. Lot of fun.
