M1100 turbo upgrade

Just wondering who has upgraded there turbos and what they went with. I have a 2860 and a 2871 in the garage. I can get a header made for 600 and was told hijacker will control boost on it. I wonder how much boost will be at 180 hp on the larger turbo im sure it would be much more efficent than the stock turbo at elevation.

yeah thats my buddies build, PM him for any info. i know it was a lot of work and i think he finally got it tuned right after a lot of work. sounds like it hauls though!

I have a chance to grab a z1 kit i know alot of it wont work but i got a price on a header and its almost half the cost of what he wants for the whole kit. Not sure if there is much of a market for the z1 d&d cooler, charge pipes and staright pipe exhuast. But i built my own turbo kit for my dragon and made it work im sure the clutching will be the hardest to figure out again.

I have a 2860 on the shelf as well. I think I will leave it there. I'm running 18.5 lb on pump gas and she is spinning a camo extreme 2.5" 60 mph. Put a new Can and Hijacker on it (and A/F gage) and it seems to be happy. Dropped a few pounds with a light weight battery and put one back on with a beefy modrods bumper.

Fought a two stroke turbo for a couple years and had lots of enjoyable shop time but was spending $8/gallon and buying pistons weely. I liked the light weight but left the hills early on blue bird day on the end of tow rope behind a stocker too many times.

Think I'll just enjoy what the little stock turbo can serve up this year and keep smiling when I turn the key while my buddies yank the pull ropes out of their doos.
