M1000 weights??

I ride between 6000 and 9000 fet in elevation i am running 80 gram weights in the primary . I was told 75 gram weights are the ticket. I am getting between 76 and 78 rmp with around 43 mile an hour track speed. what is every one else using thats working well. I am running a slp set up with boondocker fuel controller also.

Looks like your RPM is spot-on for that SLP system. Riding at 6000', depending on your clutch setup, 80 gram weights are good. Up around 9000' you could drop down to 76-77 at the most. In my opinion, it is better to load your motor, especially the M-1000, so run as much weight as you can get away with. Shoot for around 7700-7800 on the trail and 7500-7600 pulling hard in a deep powder climb. Keep in mind, proper clutching is a total package front to back. My last year's sled was an 08 M-1000 162, with. among other things, an SLP exhaust system. I generally ride 4000' to 8000' and I was running 80 gram light tip weights with an RKT secondary, 38 straight cut helix, with Cat green in 2 or 3 hole, depending on snow conditions. Track speeds can vary greatly. Mine were generally in the 45 to 50 range during climbing in deep powder.

Boosted this year. What a whole different world that is...WOW.

I ride 5-8K and I just went from 75g to 80g to try getting clutches to stay a little cooler, and it was only pulling about 6400rpm's climbing. Dropped back down to 75g and I get around 7600-7700 with SLP exhaust. 80's just didn't work for me, but I am geared down to 57/63. I am not sure what you really need to do gearing down to your clutches, but I am slowly trying to figure it out. It's like a frickin' art trying to match everything to reach it's true potential. Good luck..........
