M1000 vs m8

Stick wih the m1000 its all about torque. It didnt cost me any more than a $1500 to pipe my 09 m1000 and lighten it to 445 dry. And that was the best $1500 yet. I put $10000 + into my m7-900 and it is not my 1000. And yes that hurts, but there both mine................

How did you get 445lbs dry for $1500, or are you saying dry like skidoo does(no oils in shocks and everything):D

I think a PC is a must along with the tunnel mod. The 07 I had is an outdated sled compared to the 09, doesn't feel anything like it unless your beating the trail, and even at that it hooks up better.

skinner, what year is your m1000 and m8

Wasnt 2 hard. I took the suit case out and lost 20 lbs= $300. Timbersled intake=$245. -8 lbs. simmons skis= free,-4lbs. Low cut winshield and miscelanneous venting -5lbs. D&D Y-pipe and pipe, no heat shield like stock pipe-4 lbs. And yes I weighd every thing and the hood also. Mine runs between 440 and 450 if cats spec sheet they gave me that says 482 dry with boss seat is correct. I have added a koso gauge and gills side vents. Unfortunately I dont have acces to a scale for the sled or I would way that wet to C...........

found this in another post, for some reason I was thinking mine started out at 512lbs must have been the 08 numbers?

You must have the LE, did the seat drop 8lbs from a sp to a le or was there more done. Are you running a exhaust can at all, I've heard a stock can weighs 22lbs but for 2lbs a piece of pipe is about all you get.

I am running 162 standard with slp full exhaust -16lbs, bdx intake -8lbs, bdx oil delete -2.8lbs plus no oil -8?lbs if you keep it full, no windshield, snow flap -5lbs, plus a few other odds and ends but added bd box, koso's, handgaurds and gas rack to even it out. But I should be -40 ish all together for 456lbs and close to 200hp. Just seemed light when you said it.
I'm going to have to break down and buy a seat.:D
