M1000 VS Dragon 800

:D

I have a buddy who's father bought a M1000 (after many years of being a Polaris loyalist). My buddy listens to his dad for advice and now is advising me the same. They're telling me that I should be getting the M1000 instead of the Dragon 800. The dad is saying that the M1000 is the way to go for SPEED and POWER, like diesel engines are to gas engines. Built the same but more balls in the long run.

Has anyone here with a Dragon 800 ridden against the new M1000 sled? I ride deep snow and rarely trail riding. Is the M1000 faster but harder to handle in critical situations due to weight?

And also... I have a Dragon 800 163" under my name in Northern Utah. Anyone interested, contact me at j.r.goff@gmail.com and I will have the paperwork transferred to your name AFTER paying me a $500 deposit. That is to pay me back for my deposit which I've already paid to snow check it. I already have another Dragon 800 snow checked at a different store.

Cash or Credit Card both accepted. (Credit card will have a 6% processing fee on top of $500 which makes it $530.) NO CHECKS

Email me at j.r.goff@gmail.com.

Well my 900 with the SLP performance package running with a full pipe,y-pipe heads seedworks M1000 very well tunned 162 he would just inch by me and that was about it the little 866 did very well. A stock m1000 was no contest I would drive by them.

So if the Dragon with twin pipes maybe some other small stuff does better than the 900 and it should I would think it should hold it's own. Polaris gets the power to the ground. There is no way for the 800 to get the torque like the 1000 has though but it will be lighter and the IQ chassie is hard to beat.

Just my 2cents

Keep the Dragon. I think they are going to be very close on the hill. Plus then you can give us some real world comparisons.

WOW...you must be kidding, trying to compare orange's to apples,,, you guy's just donot get it...I am a hard core Polaris fan...but HP to HP torque to torque,,, M10 against Dragon 800.....

I have just ride with and watched in the steep and deep,,, both buddies one with M10 153" and the new 163" 800 Dragon...... which one left the high mark... you gus...pretty easy answer... who had more fun and was less tired... should be able to figure that one out....

I rode a friends rev 800 last season and was able to just about reach the highmark of my other friends M1000 mark. From what I hear the new dragons are faster than the revs. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if a stock Dragon could keep up with a stock M1000. My best riding buddie is looking to sell his M1000 so he can buy a Dragon. Says the 1000 feels to nose heavy and does not have that snappy, snorty feel that he is after.

Uhh... I don't know. Which one? You seem to be the one who has experience with the two sleds.

I appreciate the responses from those with respect, knowledge, expertise and experience.

Getting the power to the ground is were the 1000 is lacking. Now put a new skid on it and do some adjusting and things are going to change. I know for a fact the M1000 I was running against had more power than it was showing it was just not hooking up but then agian all of them I ran against were doing this and they were from different groups?? All I know is for some reason the Poo's just seem to get the power right to the snow. Just my 2cents

The 800 will compete with the 1000 if not beat it at times personal experience, not bashing cat but it was what I saw in person. You can't beat the Dragon chassis.

Go with Polaris

I rode my dad's friend's M1000 last year and I must say after riding the IQ the M felt like a heavy hard to handel drag racer. Yes it was fast and it does well when you go up the hill in a straight line... But if you like to boondock and play in the tree's then go with the polaris :)!!!!!!!! Just my $0.02 lol

Thanks guys (and gal)! I'll just stick to the Dragon 800 then. I'll be losing a left nut for this sled along with my right nut. :light: As a matter of fact, why don't I just wrap them together and hand it over to the bank when I buy the sled. :face-icon-small-con

Polaris not only knows how to put the power to the track but also has the superior track, and that makes a big difference.
