m1000 sparks sometimes but not always?????

2008 m1000 i was riding along and all of a suddin it just quit runing .. pulled the cord a few times once and ahile it will fire but wont idle checked for spark some times it has spark some times it doesnt .. any thoughts??? i unpluged my kill switch and key and still does the same thing ????????????

throttle override system would be one place to check. also the wiring for the fuel injectors, would try wiggleing it around, my buddies had semi melted and was doing the same thing.

Definitely check the throttle override, an improperly adjusted lefty will cause those issues.

how do u check the trotle over ride?

Stator, pinched wire on the pickup coil, pinched coil wire or servo motor wire(both run under the front of the fuel tank), or throttle sensor. This would be the main places to check.

the t.o.r.s is located in the throttle block on the handle bars, if you unhooked your kill switch it is the other set of wires.

Same thing happend to my sled! Just stoped running would start and run for maybe a min tops and die most of the time it was no spark though! Ended up having three bad coils and a bad wirring harness. Was a long draged out headache to find out what it was. Sled is running great now though! Today was the first day its ran since it died on me three weeks ago.
