im looking to put a turbo on my m10 this year. anyway i was leaning towards a ovs or boondocker kit but i found a deal on a nib push rg turbo for about 50% of new price so my question is does the push turbos work is there many people out there running them and how do they run? i wasnt even considering a push turbo but the deal is so good i dont wanna pass it up anyway please give me your thoughts and those that have seen them or owend them please give me your input!
thank you

I would not consider any other kit than push turbo. Good finish, quality components.

I would take a twisted kit above the rest on the m1000, most proven. But what is half price, I haven't really heard complaints about any other than BD so it should work well if the price is right and you have a good install. Is it a new kit or used. Only problem is I here its real hard to get a hold of push so your customer support wont be there unless you find a dealer to help. In which case they are not making anything off the sale you may want to find out if they will help or pay for there service to make it worth there time. MM on here knows the push kits well.

If it's NIB like you said... I'd say go for it. Hard to complain about 1/2 price.

Even if you had to drive up to go have Kevin help you tune, you'd still be ahead.

If it were me, I'd buy the kit, then pay Kevin to do the install & initial tune for you, I think you'd get a better finished product & you'd still save some $$.

I bought a Push kit for my M8 over the summer. Its a nice looking kit, have not rode it yet, so I cannot talk about how it runs. Bought it from Mountain Magic Sports. Only complaint I have about it is the lack of install instructions. Take it to Mountain Magic to have it installed, Kevin knows what he is doing.

the kit is nib with all parts in it except fuel control i was planing on doin the install myself but maybe im under estimating it! is it really that difficult to do and make mistakes?

From so many people I talk to... it's NOT that tough to do, but it sure does seem to be easy to make mistakes, as most of the people I know with turbo issues are ones that installed it themselves. I'm SURE there are exceptions to that comment, but from what I see, it's worth the price they charge.

Btw, if the drive is an issue, you can ship a sled for under $400, and Michelle ships them for under $300!

All I can say is that every turbo I can think of that has been self installed, that I've ridden with, has had issues. The ones installed by CPC, VOHK... not so much. Basic stuff will always happen of course, but there's a big difference imo.

You should be familiar with the sled and the kit when doing an install, there are just some common sense things (not so common though) that dealers watch for and correct. Look at how much you would be saving compared to new, you also need to check and see if you can get the fuel controller that is programmed for that kit and what it will cost,
what about clutching.

t

the clutching is in the kit and i talked to kevin at mms and he kinda recomended the boondocker fuel control on it and said he could do the install and intial tune but he is a ways from me im in colorado and dont really have the time to drive all the way up there until way later in the year

#1, Shipping.

#2, post in the State forums, SOMEONE is going that way at some point.

I've played this game before, it's not that tough to get figured out.

Did he say why he would recommend the BD box over the Attitude. I personally much preferred the Attitude controller just for its ease of use.

Fuel BOXES

I hate the Dolbeck box it sucks. Now hear is why first if the initial tune is off you are screwed and you are limited to what you can do with it. Second it can not minus fuel which is just plane stupid and this is the solution you have to lower your fuel pressure till it works then we need to raise the pressure for boost and thus you run out of fuel. As much as I hate to say it I still prefer the BD box all though they screwed it up in 09 with ADA burnt my sled down 4 times mainly because when you get too hot of charge tube it leans it out till oops 1 or 2 more pistons at my expense of course . Since 09 I think maybe they fixed it I still do not trust it and just shut that off.I ran 2 dolbeck boxes in 2010 hated the sled just ran OK put a BD box on at end of year and they ran 10 better and never touched box since. I have to tell you it pains me to put this on the forum but since you brought it up I must explain. I can not wait till there is a better solution but till then I am forced to do what I know works. That is the main reason my sled ran so good once I got ride of the BDX fuel pressure regulators that cost me two top ends. They had a build issue that race fuel would eat the rubber and they would loose fuel pressure and yes at my own expense again they at least gave me credit for the parts and did not charge me to reprogram it.

Hope the Branix box works.

Very valid points, and some of the reasons Im going to be using a different controller this year just not BD. If the Branix stand alone does not work as advertised I'll be going with a Power Comander 5.

The branix, is a new controller and they are coming out with a replacement ecu that can be tuned or if you know what efi live is it will work somewhat like that from what I understand.

MM, so what bd box are you running, I have seen plenty with problems (last year they seemed to work well) and with your setup are you using a rising rate fuel pressure????

With the twisted tuned attitude box mine seemed to work pretty well. Only changed it when I changed the boost. Although I do not like dropping fuel pressure to make one work, but I thought the newer boxes had options to drop fuel.

I'm hoping branix has it right, if I had access to everything I would try one but everything is hit and miss on info / access and I know the twisted stuff works.

PC 5

Let me know if you need one I bought one last year with the 02 auto tune led adjuster and the whole ball of wax retail is 1350 I would let it go for 1100.00 race gas set up.

Fuel Pressure

Yes still use rising rate but for example 1-1 with dolbeck box on 2010 to get bottom end close not good just close turn clear down to 30 lb right so at 10lb of boost you are making 40lb of fuel pressure not enough. So if you can start at 40lb and turn injectors down then at 10LB of boost you have 50lb of fuel lots better in my opinion.

Kevin, I take it you didn't like the PC 5? Has BDX fixed the FPR problems yet?

Mine, a 09 starts at 40psi, do you really have to go to 30psi on the '10. I also thought the later version could remove fuel.
