Hi, im going to be buying a 07 M1000 next week and i was wondering what octane fuel u guys are running in them? im sure u can run regula 87 octane no problem, but are there any bovious benefits to running say a premium fuel like 91 octane or higher? Will any extra hp be seen, or just detoination prevention? dont wanna be paying more for fuel if its not neccesary and if im not getting anything out of it.....

I run 91 only because I run twin pipes. For stock run the 87. It may actually run worse with higher octane
ok, sorry i didnt originally post this, but the sled has a can, y pipe and slp pipe and of course a boondocker control box, otherwise the motor is stock...does that change things?

yes you need to run 91 octane with that setup to avoid detanation. I wouldnt run any better fuel then that would just be a waste of your money.

You might just double check and see what SLP says, but typically their pipes raise running compression
slp says 91. If you can find it run non ethanol 91 octane. and most of the time if you see 92-93 all they do is add ethanol to raise octane but it actually works against you.
