M1000 mods?

Just curious because I keep getting different answers from area dealers. I have a 2007 m1000, stock under the hood except for lw can, would like to put a y-pipe and air box, but I'm really not interested in running any sort of control box. Racin Station told me last year I could get away without a box, but Pocatello Power Sports says I would need one. Who has experience with this and what have you found for best results. SLP is easiest for me since they're in Idaho Falls, but if they're not the best who is?

speed werx seems to have the better y-pipe for the 1000....i ran one with a light weight can and airbox mods for a full year with no problems, all my riding is above 7k', so if you're at lower altitudes, don't use the y-pipe without fuel box....

How much lower? A few of the places we go are probably in the upper 5000 to low 6000 range.

Get the 09 update for your ecu, trust me ive seen it in action on a buddies 07m1000. That sled rips and hes a big guy...............its hard for us smaller guys to keep up
