I have an 07 M1000 162 that is stock except for a SLP can. I want to gear it down but don't know what gears to go to. Also if you gear it down does it cause the engine to over rev? Thanks in advance:D

I like mine geared up (60/60), but it seems most folks like the M8 gears.
It doesn't cause it to over rev, it's compensated for in the clutches.

I changed the stock gearing on my 09 M1 to 57/63 and installed a BDX 40/36 helix. I know alot of people recommend gearing down but I honestly didn't notice much of a difference. My sled is stock except for a SW can. I feel like I wasted my money. Wouldn't do it again. Just my experience. For the most part the AC engineers know what they are doing.

If your having belt life issues it will help. I dropped mine to 56/64 and it improved the belt life by a good amount. Notice a more snap in the low to midrange.

Did the same on mine. Much cooler clutches and more definitely more snap down low. You will lose some off the top end, but who needs to go 105 anyway ;)
