i was going to install one on the mag side but after talking to alaskastyle828 who installed the bottom mount on the pto side and having great success im wondering if that side is better. i see arctic thunder did pto side also. wyoboy did the mag side.

to me it would seem like the mag side would need the xtra mount but i was wondering what most of you out there think. pto or mag? i suppose any extra mount on the 1000 would be beneficial. sled is a '09 m1000. thanks.

if your doing one i would do both since your in it ,, have to take out the oiljug to ,,

I will probably wind up doing both.

I put one on the mag side early in the season and haven't blown a belt since.

Did you do yours on the bottom like I did or just a torque stop

Did it all from the bottom of the sled, no need to take anything out.

the mount from the bottom to me looks like it would do 100x than what them little torque stops do. i would say if you have the bottom mag mount then the torque stop would probably work ok and not wear out right away.
why not just put two full bottom mounts in and call it a day. that slut shouldnt move much at then.

Sorry I'm the guy on here that is interested in what you're doing but hasn't got a clue. I don't own a M1000, but my brother does, are you guys talking about adding an extra motor mount? I have a M7 and the only mounts it has is on the sides, the mag side has a bracket and the pto side has 4 bolts that go into the mounting plate held on by the 2 studs and nuts. Are you talking about some mounts on the bottom of the motor? Sorry for the dumb questions but I'd like to understand to let my brother know. Someone said it helps with the belt heat, is that true?

Some good reading here for you.

I have just the mount on the PTO side. lots of good miles on the same belt this season. Now I think installing the same mount on the MAG side would be the ticket also. At the time I was planning on doing the torque stop like twisted turbo. But after looking at it and having to remove the front of the sled to install I bagged it. Havent' looked back yet.

I put an extra motor mount on the front of the motor beside the oil pump and a torque stop on the mag side.

ok thanks for the replies. sounds like either way should help. i think im going to throw it on the mag side and give it a whirl. before this coming winter i think ill throw the second mount the bottom if a guy is still seeing belt issues/ heat issues.
