M1000 crank bearing

Last trip out the mag side rod bearing went on my sled there are 4 m1000s in our group and now that bearing has gone on all 4 sleds. I have not seen this problem on here before but it seems unusual to have the same problem on all four sleds in one group. Has anyone heard of any bearing problems on the 1000

I choked a PTO crank bearing last week also
Bearing,rod shot
Checked oil pump and other bearing both where OK
nothing a grand won't fix

The Grand is for the machine shop to press bearings and rod
The labour for reassemble is my time (Free) LOL
And it's a 08 M1000 for mine

I had the mag side bering go out on my sled, and the middle beiring and one pto beiring. Yes Ive had my crank lock up three times

It would be helpful if those with bearing failures could list year, mileage, brand of oil & which bearing went out... Who knows, we might see some sort of pattern develop.

Brand of oil would be very interesting for sure.

You are getting raped if you have a grand into a rod and bearing..
Your dealer can get you a reman crank from the factory for way less than that, with all new bearings and rods

This is a interesting topic. My dad is thinking about buying a M1000 cuz his dragon 800 wont run. Any thoughts on why these bearings are faling? Any prevention? More information about mileage and years. One was an 08? Thanks for any information

What year dragon? Tell your dad I have an '07 M1000 with 1165 miles I'll trade him.

I would like to know what mods are on these sleds with the failures and if they are on the original top end. My guess is these sleds are not stock. Just a guess however.

Yeah, please post miles, oil ratio.
My 08 has about 800mi on it and runs strong. Oil was real rich when I bought it. Leaned it out a couple turns, now between 35 and 40:1. Run mostly Amsiol Interceptor with a couple tanks of Amsoil HP injector thrown in.

08 m1000
PTO at 1200 miles
Started to make noise, shut er down. towed off the mountain.
no damage to the cyl or head.
Cat has a rebuild program for cranks. It came back with all new bearings and center gear and one new rod. Mine was about $700.00 with the shipping.
Blue marble oil. (I ran Blue Marble in my Polaris for years with no problems.)
