Hey everyone, i got a question for all of you's, i know that some of you guys are having problems with a bog and what not and i was wondering if i were to buy a Mseries for northern canada if i would still have that problem?
if i would buy a new cat it would most likely be an 09 with y pipe pipe and can and maybe air box mod just to get it a lil lighter that should shave an other what 20 lbs almost?
but with all that would i need anything else or would it be perfect pull cord and ride the snot out of it?

It mostly depends on elevation, these sleds run pig rich at lower altitude and pretty much require a fuel box stock or modded. Pretty minor detail, but it is required. Other than that, go out and beat up on any other non turbo sled you want.

I have an 09 M1000 with a SW can and the rest is stock. I would put a Boss seat, venting, and can on. I have no bog 4-7000 elevation. I think you'll find that you don't need to spend a bunch of money on the 09's as they are a very good sled out of the box. Save your money for gas and oil.

After that I put full slp pipe set and bd box on without any intake mod and now have a major bog at times and my rpm's jump up and then drop to about 7000rpm and stay there. pretty sure it's a clutching bog, possibly a little due to my oil pump sticking half open but not sure yet.

Do the update & leave it stock :beer;ya! Took care the bog in the Horns.

M8's seem to run best at 43lbs of fuel pressure. Your dealer can check it for you. If it is too high, you can get a fuel pressure regulator and adjust it down to where it needs to be.

Had probs with a dead spot on my 07 m1000, figured out I needed to add another shim in my secondary and switched to a progressive 40/36 helix from slp with rock rollers. L.W. can, otherwise stock, runs strong top to bottom now, couldn't be happier.
