I've got both the 1m and M1000, and after riding the M sled there is just absolutely no reason to go back to the 1m....JMO
Just curious has anyone heard of anyone putting an m series engine in a 1m chassis if so i would love to know all about it.
Which engine are you thinking of trying? I wouldn't think it would work that great, as there's no place for the throttle bodies to go on the 1M. Plus, even if they did fit, you couldn't get an airbox in there. My dad and I run the M1000 pistons in our big bore 900s, and they will keep up with most anything new.
But hey, go for it and let us know how it turns out.

I'm sure you could make it fit, as the M series motors are more compact for lack of a better term, and the 1M has a lot of space underhood but it seems to me it would be simpler to find a rolling M chassis & throw it in there.
Due to the FIFO layout of the M motor though you're going to have some issues with the way it would go in & how much space is in front of the motor. You could likely store some junk where the intakes used to be in the 1m though
Not worth the work by any means imo, but some folks just enjoy the tinkering more than I do!
look up Rixster on Snowest and see what he thinks. I think he knows everything you can do with a Mountain Cat / King Cat!

would be equivalent to putting a porsche motor in a 1979 buick wagon
