Unless I'm the only person this happens to (which is doubtful since the local AC dealer where I was riding had almost 2 dozen of these obscure plastic pieces in stock), AC should change this design or just make them out of a metal instead of plastic.
For the third time now one of these things failed and left a trail of busted wheels, axle,, bearings, spacers and black plastic junks over the trail behind me. Shame on me for replacing with stock parts in this area,,,,,, again.
Everyone should keep an eye out on these 2 pieces of black plastic that sit outside the inner wheels, against the inside of the rails. The adjuster bolts sit against them to adjust your rear axle position. There is also 2 positions you can run them in, neither way works. You can either have the adjuster bolt go through a hole in the plastic and sit against the axle, or the bolt can sit against a raised portion without a hole. Repeat, neither has worked for me.
I didn't have a picture of this part but it is number 36 (2604-260, bushing adjuster) on a microfische under idler wheel assembly.
I have pointed this out to several buddies with M-sleds and a few have noticed thiers were cracked and they replaced them, and some have never had them crack over seasons of use. Not the case for me and it requires a tow out unless you can pack the whole works with you for spares.
Poor design to use plastic where so much force and pressure are applied via bumps on the trail on these sleds. Easy fix for Cat. And like I mentioned the dealer in the area had so many in stock, he said they are frequently cracked. I dont inspect mine every ride or anything and maybe I should be...
Anyway here is a replacement I found on Fastlane's site that replaces them with aluminum, again, the fact that someone makes them must mean its fairly common. I never hear about it though,,, other than it happening to me.

And on the same note as I am now going to replace these but I am willing to spend on a big wheel kit, does anyone have any experience with this Fastlane 9" kit on thier sled? Good, bad, does it hold up to abuse as apparently I abuse my sled I guess?

Thanks for any input on this as well.
