M Series Footrests

I want to mod my '05 M 153" tunnel, and am thinking of going a few different ways with the footrests. If anyone has any advice, or experience with any of these, I would appreciate it.

1)Stock '09 footrests. Pretty inexpensive, but how easy are they to adapt to an '05 tunnel? Do I need any extra support after cutting off the rear part of the running boards?

2)BDX Footrests

3) Van Amburg tunnel edges and footrests. I like the way these look and the fact that they are integrated, but I don't see many people on Snowest using them.

I put fastlane no snows on my m7 back in the day. AWESOME setup to keep snow away. I think if i still had it, i would rock those, with a bdx kit. After the no snows, the 09 boards are making me sad. After a bit in the deep powder, she's one big ice ball.

Me and my pal converted our sleds (CF7SP -06 and CF8SP -07) with -09 footrests and rear bumpers. You need to heat and straighten the running board rolls and also heat and straighten the rear cooler. Also those footrests need little tweaking to fit to older rolls. If you are handy it's doable :)

Rear tunnel doesn't need extra support if you use enough rivets installing the bumper. Also some glue between bumper and tunnel would be good. Most important thing is to rivet bumper also to rear suspension mounting brackets with several rivets!

Here's my sled with float skid conversion and 141" extreme track.

Here is what I done. Edges from VE, origanal snow eliminators, cat bumper and make sure you cut out the front footwell piece. This allows the snow to fall through instead of building up in the footwell.

I did the VE setup. Edges, and bumper. Looks really good! I like the way the VE bumper projects up from the back of the sled, and doesn't get buried in the snow as easily when you bury the rear end. No extra reinforcement is necessary. The VE bumper is really well built and by riveting all along the tunnel, it is really strong. Looks and feels stronger than it came from the factory. That along with my Snow Eliminators, it feels much more rigid than stock, and lighter too!
