M SEAT ON A 1M

This seems to be a classic question, and while I have no experience with it I'm pretty confident the consensus is possible, but rarely done because for the amount of work and/or parts it would take to make it happen and the gains you get you might as well just bolt on a boss and be done with it.
Stock M seats are junk, I just threw one in the garbage & I'd give you another one for whatever it costs to ship.
That said, the M has a narrower tunnel than the 1M (you can fit a 16" in a 1M, not in an M), and the gas tank is different.
It would look silly, you'd need to install hardware to hold it down, and it's a heavy, low seat that absorbs moisture like a desiccant!

and the stock seat on 1m or mc doesnt absorb water?! the seat is just as low on the 1m and mc and i think all ya goota do is reshape the front of the seat to fit the tank besisides like i said i ahve more time than money a cant afford a boss seat at 300+ bucks and i cant even get a seat recovered for 40 bucks
I know a couple people who have put more material on top of their 1M seats, perhaps that would be a cheap answer for you?
I'd think the difference in width would make the seat fit like crap. The M seat is intended to slide just over the edge of the tunnel & that won't work on the 1M.

I don't think it would work, the 1M seats are wide and flat at the front whereas the M seats are narrow and come to a point
I agree that adding some material to your 1M seat might work...I saw a guy do that to an old Summit 800 (one of the old school XZ) and it worked out for him.

No a 1m seat doesn't absorb water and is much lighter then an M seat. M seat are a giant sponge .

There are a couple of good options for the 1M to avoid a $300 Boss Seat. The Powdercrew Dragon Seat/Tank deal looks great IMHO. I think it cost him $125 for the tank and seat at a swap meet. http://www.snowestonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=163625&page=2
Or, you can make your own. Some seat foam (non absorbant), a electric knife and some imagination. With the foam and having a cover sewn, this was about $125 too.

I just thought about it, PM hardkor on here, he has a few seats that he made for that sled, not sure what he'd need for one, but they work great!

Not trying to kill your idea just trying to help. 1M seats are pretty lite. Bought a boss seat for mine and it's alittle heavier then the stock one, by a bought a pound.
