Low elevation turbo problems

So my buddy has an 08 m1 twisted kit and I have an 09 her twisted kit. At low elevation ( back in nd) they run like ****, hardly even move but when he goes out to the mtns it runs perfect. I havent got mine out there yet but Im assuming it's going to do the same as his since our symptoms are almost identical.

What causes them to run like **** down low but perfect up high?

You need to have a different map for low elevation. You are way too short on fuel for that elevation.

I am not sure on a different map needed. I run in nd then take it out west 8000+ ft it runs decent without touching the fuel controller. I can fine tune it a little for better performance but it runs not bad before I tweak it. If you don't touch your fuel pressure setting when going to low elevation it might be raising the pressure enuff you may need to bring the lights down a few in some settings(seems backwards but that's how mine is.)

Elevation

I had to lower my fuel settings at lower elevation a little also. If you have any questions I would call Shain he will be more than happy to help you. Mine is a 1000 but i'm sure the principle is the same.

It will run but the performance will be off. You are getting more absolute cylinder pressure because the denser air at low elevation. Just think at 10,000 feet does your turbo sled run the same when its -20 out as when its 30. Unless you are ok with it having a little more lag down low or high temps you will need to adjust your fuel.

I got ya now! Ya it might not be dead nuts on but I guess I am happy runnng it as is. 8psi at sealevel the skis are never touching thats good enuff for me!:face-icon-small-hap
