low bars

I've been running the tall bars on both my previous Pro-ride and now Axys. At 6'2" and a fan of tall bars on my dirtbike, I just assumed this was the right thing to do.

But last winter (my first on Axys), I found the tall bars getting in the way while play riding. They're great for stand-up riding on the trail, but off trail they end up in my chest too much, and my upper body and arms do weird awkward things as a result.

I just ordered the Polaris low bars, but I'm surprised they still have a 5" rise compared to the 7" tall bars. What lower bars are other guys running and happy with?

On a similar note, have any of you run 7/8" to 1 1/8" bar clamp adapters to expand options?

I run the Fly, Next Level bars from Dan Adams. There lower and have a slightly different angle, which has worked very well.

The other thing I started doing about 4 or 5 years ago.......ditch the mountain strap!!!

I am with FatDogX! I had the low Polaris bar and switched to the Fly bar the angle change was much more comfortable for me when off trail, I felt like I was stretched out of position with the pro bars. The flys are slightly narrower 1” I think? And swept back just a touch, but it made a lot of difference in feel for me.

I run the Fly Dan Adams NXT LVL bars too!....oops, wrong sport. They do work well on the ski though.

I'm also curious about what bar height to go with on my new sled next season. I'm also 6'2" and have a 1" riser on the stock Pro bars, but thinking I should go lower. Less comfy just riding, but should be better boondocking. Interested in feedback...

Any idea of the overall height on these bars? I was looking for something about 4" in height but I can't seem to find any reference to what these are.

I was going to stay, if you do a search on here, I had a thread a while back on these bars showing differences.

polaris has a plug and play kit that is 2" lower, we've found it works well. comes with bars, grips, heaters, truly plug and play. or grab some RSI or CFR bars and build your own set up.

The NXT levels are a hair lower then the Mid height OEM pro-taper bars and come with a center bar pad. Ditch the mountain strap as you don't need it and all it seems to do is jab me in the chest.

The polaris low bars are a hair low for me for all around riding, they rock for nasty tree riding but I don't like them when just cruising/freeriding as im a little too hunched.
