loud clunk when clutch engages from a stop

Hey guys I have a 2012 Pro RMK 800 and I get a pretty loud clunk when the clutch engages from a stop is this common or ok? I just picked up the sled a few weeks ago and just kind of noticed the sound today and dont recall hearing it before. I just put in Low elevation weight and a new stock primary spring other wise have not done anything.

Believe it is the floating secondary slamming into alignment with primary. Thats my idea, my 12 800 pro does it as well.

The clutch engaging is one thing. There is another possible problem. Worn driveshaft bearings can cause a clunk too. Might be different in a '12 but on the newer ones the bearing behind the secondary is supposed to be a press fit to the shaft. Some spin inside the race and ruin the bearing. Worth pulling the clutch and checking IMO.

My SBA does it if I am on the brakes hard and the hit the throttle again. It has done it since new. Only 500 miles on it now.

Sometimes when you stop the rollers lose contact with the helix ramp where the reverse notch is. The clunk is when you start to go and the rollers come in contact with the ramp again. Nothing to worry about.

any time you lock the brakes or decelerate quikly it allows the helix to rotate into the reverse position..as soon as you hit the gas it causes the helix to rotate back to the drive position(the clunk you hear).. it is normal ...
