LOUD Can for 2009 800R Summit X Don't flame me...not for me, for a buddy!

Each their own, but I heard some sleds yesterday that were so loud. I told my wife that I couldn't see why a person would want all that noise rattling their brains around all day:confused:
Thanks guys. I can't get it through my buddy's thick head that a quiet sled that rips is better than a loud sled that losses HP over stock. Why does a loud sled seem to make you think that it is faster?

to be honest that gets way over used the azz clown thing....

Is it given out way too much or just given to you way too much. Ive only given out one assclown award and guess who recieved it, but I digress. A loud sled is...well it is what it is, if you like that, more power to you, whatever, it doesnt really bother me on the hill. Its the jack*** in the parking lot that I cant stand. I mean really, you dont have to unload and run WOT back and forth in the parking lot right next to everyone. No one is impressed. Believe me if your sled is loud on the hill and few people may say, wow that sled sounds good, but if your sled is loud in the lot its because your being a jack*** and everyone is saying, hey that guys a jack***. My two cents.

I would 2nd that about the parking area jack a$$, weekend wannabees! Adds a element to the sport none of us need.

I guess these guys also like to burn out the hyfaxes and bust the lugs off the tracks as well, seeing how the parking lot is perfect for opening up at WOT.:D

You need to come to my local track, the only rice burners there are in the parking lot.

haha i found it funny at the track a guy in his dads camaro beaking off to a kid with a honda civic telling him to get his pos princess auto racer off the track they almost fought, guy in the jap car went out of his way just to line up against the camaro when he came back with a huge smile on his face after winning in his jap car the camaro guy didnt have nothing to say... lol

no the cool guy who started using that might have been funny the first time but after that its so dumb every one copy that to there picture file giggling when they get to use it, get something new... and who the heck are you, and i only got it once maybe twice....:D

Giving you the assclown award would be an insult to a true assclown. We're all racking our brains for an award lower than that. We just can't relate to your stupidity level. But it's coming, don't worry.;)

All you guys ripping on loud sleds, rice rocket cars and how people ride thier sleds in the parking lot, did any of you read the title of the post? If you did and had half a brain you would have held back all that pent up anger and started your own post about how bad loud sleds run and how they are bad for your sport or how cameros are better than jap cars. Put that in the title of your post so that I know not to read it!
The pipe on the 800r engines have a tube in it that makes them quieter and the local dealer told me that you need a aftermarket pipe to get that old loud sound back. different silencers don't make that much difference

go away mr 6 posts then and by the way that pipe inside of the pipe you take it out and you gain 2 hp loose 2 pounds but i never found it any louder on a friends sled at all...

Bought a snowstuff "rumblepack" at Haydays for cheap a few years ago, it was nasty and raspy at low rpm not too bad at mid range but a real howler at WOT. The problem was the motor just seemed to be flat above 75 mph, I went back to Precision Performance Products (the originator of the lightweight silencer), their can has a wicked rap at idle and low rpm but is not that noticeable at cruising speed and now the sled really rips, their claims for hp gains are not just advertising they really work and the workmanship is great. I have owned 3 of them now on 3 different Skidoos and all 3 were noticeably quicker and faster. Moral of story, noise does not necessarily equal horsepower.

That's classic thinking right there. Buy an HPS can and tell me its not louder than stock, even with the internal pipe baffles. Then we can dyno it and I'll show you the 3 HP that you just lost by installing it.

Sneddonrider, thanks for the info about the pipe. I'll pass all the info on to my buddy and let him decide. BTW, I do like a raspy growl to my sled but I sure do notice the extra noise when cruising in at night on the trails. Love the bark of the sled with a can while playing in the powder and boondocking. I feel that different cans sound better than others and everyone has their own preference. I would love my 07 600sdi with the HPS can to have the cackle that my 03 had. Maybe it has something to do with the 03 having two chambers on the can and my 07 has only one big chamber. Anyway, thanks to all who contributed info to my post. Keep it coming!

Who are you? The forum gestapo. This is a conversation, so if it gets off topic its OK. Conversations tend to change subject from time to time. Ill bet your a hoot at parties.

Oh I bet you dynoed that one ,or can you feel 2 hp,and that 10" piece of thin wall tube weighs nothing close to 2 pounds and like you said it hardly makes it louder.LMAO

Since when did it become a criminal offence to have a loud sled anyway?? I have never heard any *****ing or complaning when riding in the mountains about a noisy sled ever. BTW if your buddy is riding in the mountains, stay away from MBRP cans, not packed for higher elevation riding.:beer;
