Lost Cattle

Any idea who would own the cattle that would be grazing up around the Whitney area south of Evanston? We ran across a cow that still looked pretty healthy, not sure if it would be worth the effort to try and get it out.

Call the SO and local brand inspector. Give them the location of the cow as there maybe more at risk.

About 4 years ago the wife and I herded for 3 about miles about 12 head of cattle out of the Big Horns in mid winter to near the highway with a snowmobile and snow cat. The rancher who they belonged to was grateful to find his cattle were alive and well. He knew they were lost but they were a long way from where he thought they were lost and where he was looking. He and his family showed up the next day with snowmobiles, horse trailers, horses and enough hands to rescue his cattle after we got the brand inspector involved. Just a common courtesy you can do to help the local economy.
