My sled died while i was just putting around. And i tried to pull start it, but there was no compression or anything. so i opened it up and the recoil bolts had come loose and fallen out, the recoil was just held on by one bolt. is this why the sled died or just another problem to fix?

Just another problem to fix.
I highly doubt that stalled your motor.
They can chew up the pawl if they fall down beside the motor tho.
