looking to make my 09 m8 a bit more wheelie happy

Well my buddy has an 09 assult and he's always going on about the wheelies it can do and the power it has, so i figured that i would have to try and show him up on my sled just for a while cause wheelies get pretty boring after a while. So is there anything quick and easy that i could do with the suspension or something to shut the polaris guy up?

If you look inside the tunnel where the front skid bolts go through. There are another set of holes above and below the stock (center bolt hole). Remove the bolts, drill out the holes that are only visible from inside the tunnel and then drop the front skid bolts to the lower holes. This will make your sled lighter on the front end.

Make sure your limiter straps are ALL the way out.

Also, you may want to drop your rear float pressure to around 100 psi and turn up the spring pressure on your front Zero Pro shock a bit.

I think that's about all can think of right now to make it wheelie better.

Open the hood and look at the exhaust. Yeah. Put a turbo in there... That tends to make them wheelie!

Just leave you're sled stock and laugh at him while you ride around him when his assault trenches a big hole

thanks for the advice, i'll have to try that sometime this week.

And a turbo would be nice but they cost alot of $$$$$$ that i don't have but its on my wish list

the 09's i've looked at don't have the front skid holes you can drill inside the tunnel. Just make sure the limiters are all the way out and lower the rear shock pressure. An slp pipe set helps and is affordable. The assault wont go anywhere on a steep soft slope. Then when he is in a trench and looking for help just keep on going with your skis only a foot off the snow and having a blast.

whether the tunnel has the "half holes" on the inside of the tunnel makes no difference....just measure down 3/4 of an inch and drill the holes yourself, but....my 09 had the holes pre-marked...:face-icon-small-hap

Mine doesn't have any, inside the tunnel. A friends m8 doesn't either. wonder whats up. ?? although mine tranfers way more than needed

That's weird. My 09 M8 Sno Pro has a black steel plate on the inside of the skid with three holes on each side of the tunnel. The center one is the only one that is drilled, the others are only visible from inside the tunnel.

mine just has a very small black plate under the cross tube, everthing else is clean. same with the 09 m8 i looked at. Maybe its just on the Sno Pro, but i'm pretty sure the m8 was a SP. do you have a pic

I tried to stick the camera in the skid. Here are a couple pictures of what I am seeing on my sled.

One picture is the hole above the stock front skid bolt and one picture is of the hole below the stock bolt (which is in the center position).

Ok so mine might be the same, didn't stick my head in there far enough, sleds not here to check though. I just remembered the 07 having a more distinct inner plate and holes. Thanks Frostbite

Yah Sure You betcha!

I may live out west but I still have my Norski (Northern Minnesota) heritage. :p
